I went to bed yesterday about 2 or 3 pm. I woke up at 11pm in total darkness and silence. Power is out. I checked the breakers, they were fine. I went outside with the flashlight. I got my government coupons for my digital converter box the other day. The coupon came with a list of about 10 "local" places that take the coupons. (One was 35 miles away lol). Halloween was always our favorite holiday. This was true for the both of us before we even met. A year ago, we were spending $50-$100 a week on decorations, trinkets and candy.
