"Your English education is incomplete without having seen Cambridge," Dr. Norman Page scolded. So Wednesday we spent a lovely day there. Norman showed me around his old college (Immanuel) complete with a Wren chapel. Since I had recently read Jude the Obscure I had wanted to see the manuscript and painting of him in the Fitzwilliam Museum

This little mountain-town, Assisi, is absolutely wonderful. I love Italy. The hills are so green and varied and houses are just sort of randomly placed in creases in the ravines and fields and whatnot
