So I actually managed to get the salary I was looking for. It was a paycut from my current position, but I think it is imminently reasonable considering I am going to be working for the state. Right now they are putting paperwork together to ship over to HR and checking on my references. Hopefully I will hear from HR early next week ( Read more... ) -
An offer
So I got an offer over the weekend. It wasn't a bad offer, but it was less than I've made since I moved out here from Ohio. I counter-offered, asking for a bit more money and an extra half week of Annual Leave to compensate for the rather large pay cut i would be taking (even pointing out that, in actuality, the extra half week would just keep my ( Read more... ) -
Still waiting
At least the folks were kind enough to send me an email letting me know it was taking longer than expected. Still, i feel kinda like i'm on pins and needles waiting for the actual offer. Just gotta keep breathing and reminding myself that it will happen soon enough. -

So web petitions are useless, but doing something is better than nothing. So I invite everyone to join me in signing the petition "to stop MTV's remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
They are apparently adding new songs to their version. This remaking of old movies has got to stop. -
brain morass
So we slept with the AC off, the fan off, and the window open last night because it was beautiful outside yesterday. I was loving the weather.
Plus, we had gone with mdhensley to a wine shop resteraunt and had appetizers, wine and desert. I had also received an excellent backrub and was feeling good and relaxed ( Read more... ) -
The nephews
The nephews have come and gone and left me an Al happy and exhausted in their wake. They are growing up so fast, its kind of shocking. I have gotten used to doubling recipes when i have guests over to make sure i have enough food to feed people. Got two emails this morning. One from my mom telling me that my step dad has been scheduled for a triple A in early september. I'm not sure what exactly a triple A is, but there were murmers of heart bypass surgery as a possibility if the stints didn't open up his artery, so i have to assume that that is what she's talking about.
