Last night I was invited to shoot an event at the Baltic Room. This was my first semi-pro event and I sprung for a new flash and a new battery for the camera. I needed both. One of my amazingly cute neighbors showed up at the event and just after I took her photo my camera not only refused to show her the picture, but also refused to do anything ( Read more... )

Getting a new flash means going out to test it. Here are the results. I need to look into doing a slightly off-axis effect in some cases, but overall I'm happy.

My new guitar has arrived. It was pretty well set up from the factory and it sounds great. It is also remarkably light - something I know I will appreciate on stage. The volume controls are a little odd - setting either volume knob to zero while both pickups are on will silence the guitar :-(.  On the bright side, sustain for days and fun to play!
