Just stopping by to thank mews1945 for the lovely Christmas card and calendar -- WITH HATS!!! OMG, I want all of them. It's beautiful. And I'm obsessed with hats, even when I have hair. Thank you, dear!

I can vouch for rice vinegar and sugar as a great vegetable dressing. I use it on cucumbers and peppers all the time.

ages almost 4 and 18 months. Go figure.

Kids like sour tastes at that age. I do not know why. In Brooklyn, if you bring a baby to a restaurant, a lot of them will give you a few sliced pickles to keep them happy while you wait for your order. I am a grandmother already and just found this out over the past year with my grandson. All those years, when I was a young mom, I was trying to keep mine happy with crackers or bread. Weird that I never knew.

I want to try your green beans soon.

What an interesting recipe - I've never had green beans like that but I really like German potato salad so I'm intrigued!!
