I remember the first time I was watching 'Fear Itself' and with just a few minutes to go before the end of the episode I was thinking, how can they resolve this in just a couple of minutes??
And then GACHNAR appears! LOL

Oh and I meant to add: Parker is one of my favorite BtVS monsters, because RL is always scarier.

Okay, yeah, 'monster' is taking it too far... but I don't think any big bad, or demon messed with her head as much as Parker did.

I've seen Buffy's Joseph Campbell hero's journey done before, little on individual monsters, so go you for going the original route.

Yeah, Sweet was such a wonderful monster. This weird, shady jazz-era Faustian devil guy who could make everyone burst into song (and flames) just by hanging around town. And that's not even why he's really there; it's almost like an evil side effect of when you summon him. He just makes you tell the truth in style, but some people can't handle the truth!

Wig lady was also very cool. Reminded me a little of Norman Pfister. I remember she had some nice, slimy old-school effects going on, too.

And, yeah, it really was almost like an unfortunate side effect of his presence. Maybe it just happened so that the whole truth thing could still be entertaining for him even if whoever summoned him happened to be a couple boring fuddy duddies.

And I bet you there's at least one Freudian who took wig lady and ran with it.

Yeah, you could tell Sweet got off on it. He was clearly doing "something" to make it happen, but it felt like it was almost an infection or nerve gas sort of attack. And the way he could just bend reality on a whim, it was like, "Is this Sweet guy even a real person?" Like the Nightmares episode, the red man in the blue suit almost felt like a side effect of something himself, like that body was a part of a living dream that humans could actually see and touch. When he turns into that magic gas cloud thingee at the end, I almost got the sense the Scoobies were getting a glimpse of his "true form" or whatever. If that makes sense.

Gachnar always made me laugh. But I never got the foreshadowing there. I see it now. Interesting.

I always had a soft spot for Jinx. His fawning over Glory was delightfully over the top.
