So what to say after a month away? Life is still going, always changing, regardless of my desire otherwise, and I'm knee deep in editing a very long, if not rewarding (it is) documentary. ~22 hours of footage= 14 minutes of screen time. I just spent seven hours in a room deciding with 29 other people how we would split the class into two for the next year. It was harder then deciding a murder trial.

Remember when CRASH was just a dirty movie by Cronenberg? Remember how much better things were?
Remember when I respected the Academy? Me either. This year will go down in history as the Marrisa Tomei of Best Picture winners.
Crash is just as good as Return of the King, right? And Casablanca? Surely. They have to be. Right?

I spent this weekend as second assistant camera on a movie about young Hitler. It was actually quite enjoyable, even though I busted my ass more than ever before. We shot the first day on Stage B, and the set looked terrific. Well, after spending four hours sinking dailies, I can officially say it isn't very fun. The school had to FEDEX the dailies to my house and of course the guy comes at 8:30 in the morning on the only morning I was sure I could sleep in. First day of second semester classes. We have class from 9-9 and it is exhausting. We're taking an acting class which is sort of absurd, a quasi-boring documentary class with an uninterested teacher, and a filmmaking class with a surprisingly kind, funny, and good teacher.
