Well, my employers at the university want me to come in on Monday for a bit of a training session, apparently, and so I can know a little more about the labs and what sort of equipment they will be dealing with. I am kind of excited about it, actually. I really miss my work at home, and I know this will not really be all that similar, but it should ( Read more... )

Aw, tired of me already? *chuckles a little* I'm happy that you're excited about your new job. I know that you'll be fantastic at it.

As far as I know, I haven't heard much about there being one... There were always little Spring festivals in Resembool, mostly by the local farmers, but nothing like May Day.

::smiles:: Danke, I hope so. And come on, you of all people cannot blame me for wanting to get out a bit. But you do not have much longer to wait before you can go to work too, of course. It will be nice.

Hm... A shame. Well, maybe we could invite some friends over for lunch or dinner or something, at least?

I'm not blaming you for anything. *grins teasingly* I can't wait until I can start up work again... It'll help me take my mind off of things. Sitting around here has given me too much time to think.

Could we? I really wouldn't mind making some dinner for them or stuff like that.

Oh good. ::grins back:: Ja, I bet so. But then again, it has certainly given you plenty of time to read, which is at least useful.

It would be fun, I think. We just need to decide who to invite...

I'm glad to hear you got the job, Alfons. Good luck with it. Um... will you still be having lunch at the library with me, during those days...?

Ah... I might be able to, still, but I will have to leave about fifteen minutes earlier than I usually would, so I can make it to work on time. But I think that should work... Maybe I will spend more time with you on the weekends to make up for it, if that is alright.

Oh... that's fine. I really appreciate your visits, you know that. And I would love to have you over, I - I really would.

Alright then... I will do whatever I can to find time to spend with you, of course. I would be around a lot more often if I knew Edward would be okay by himself...

*cocks head curiously* What is Mayday?

lostforeigner April 24 2006, 17:45:22 UTC
The first day of May. At home, they throw a big festival all over town and the children dance around the maypole in the square. It is a celebration of spring that is a bit late in the season, I suppose, but it really does not start to warm up until then, like here.

Oh, yes! May Day is approaching quite quickly isn't it, darling? I remember the good ol' days, dancing naked around the maypole... *sighs wistfully*

...Naked? Your Germany really was a lot different.

Well, I don't think that part was necessarily traditional, darling. It was more like my slut-bunny had received an old stripper pole from his brother and I thought it would be lovely to set up and decorate.

That's good to hear! Good luck on your new job.

Hmm, I haven't heard of May Day before... What kind of festival is it?

Danke!

Ah, a festival to celebrate spring, mostly. There is a huge maypole in the town square that the children dance around, weaving ribbons around it. And then there is food and music and all of those sorts of things.

*smiles* That sounds like a lot of fun. It's a shame there aren't any festivals here like that.

Ja, there seems to be a definite lack in holidays here. It is kind of sad. ::chuckles::
