I would imagine my reaction to Michael Jackson's death is similar to lots of folk in my age bracket; shocked disbelief and a sense of loss that can't be ascribed to anything concrete. Happiness is...

playing an impromptu set of kick-ass songs to a very enthusiastic crowd of bouncy people at the Blues night at Bodega. Playing bass with an awesome band. Having fun with music.

Staying up way late, having to get up early the next day, and playing another gig tomorrow night, suffering for it but enjoying life very very very much.

It's 12.08am on Friday 5th June. My day began at 8am on Thursday 4th, with the moving of my entire collection of personal possessions from my old flat to my new one.

I've just stopped working. I am utterly exhausted, but immensely relieved. I am now going to go have the best shower of my life...following which, the sleep of the dead.

I haven't posted here for a couple of months...life has been getting in the way, in ways which I can't expand upon just now. Shortform, let's just say it involves despair, loss of confidence, loss of purpose, illness and bad luck - and to counter that, joy, redemption, love, hope, a rebuilding of confidence, music, friendship and trust ( Read more... )
