HAI SEEKERS,
I have spent the past three days scanning the archives and figuring out what I need to do to get things how I want them. In this post I will be addressing all changes I am making to the way the comm is run. It is important that you read it, whether you contribute or lurk.
TAGS
I am happy to say that I have skimmed every entry ever posted to
lotseekerfic , and have tagged them all to the best of my ability given the limitations of skimming for keywords.
You'll notice that a lot of new tags for pairings, characters, and users have appeared in the sidebar, and some old redundant tags have been deleted. Every person who has ever posted should now have a user tag.
Please take a moment to click on your user tag, and scan the tags on your entries. Comment here and tell me if I missed a character or pairing that you need. In the future, if there is a character, pairing, genre, or user tag you need, please tell me about it. I want to know so everything can be well tagged :D !!
Important: In my tagging adventure, it became apparent to me that some users don't understand how to use tags or what they're for. I'll admit they confused me for a while too, until I saw how useful they were on
lots_femslash .
So here's the run down: Tags let you organize your entries into categories so that you can quickly find related entries in the comm. For example, all entries that involve romance are tagged "genre: romance." Now, anyone who clicks on the "genre: romance" tag in the sidebar will see all entries that have to do with romance. The same goes for every other tag. Click on "character: denna" to see all entries that have to do with Denna, "pairing: cara/dahlia" for all entries to do with them. That's what makes our new user tags so nifty. If, instead of searching by subject like "pairing: cara/jennsen" , you want to search by user - you can do that now. Let's say you really like everything that
vorquellyn writes. Well, now you can click on "user: vorquellyn" and you'll get everything she's ever posted in this comm. :D
So please, on all of your entries, use every tag that applies, and if you need a new tag, let me know. There is a "REQUEST A TAG" link in the sidebar now for your convenience that will redirect you to comment here.
Still confused? There are LJ tutorials
here and

From this point forward, the following rules will be enforced. Continual failure to comply will result in your posts having to go through the moderation que before they appear on the site.

SPOTLIGHT
You will notice in the top of the sidebar there is now a section called "Spotlight." Every so often, I will be randomly spotlighting a fic in the archives by rolling dice for the year, month, day, and entry number.
That's it for now! QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, NEED A TAG? COMMENT HERE. COMMENTS ARE SCREENED.
