I was the same till a couple of days ago.
My keitai can be recharged via usb-port with a normal cable, maybe you can try and do the same ? I don't know what model is yours but I'm sure there's a way to do that.
I'll pray for your friend, too. I really hope she's safe and sound.
I can't even imagine how you're feeling as the hours go by.
