Another Year Older, etc.
Almost two weeks past, I turned sixty. This is not the birthday I'd hoped for, but who could have predicted Covid and all of that? Not me, that's for certain. Were this the year that I had anticipated, we would be in Norway. As it is not that year, I'm at home. Y'know, home isn't really that bad.

Why is there an apostrophe after Wag(en)?

Wisdom comes from strange places. The most recent piece of wisdom came from an episode of "Planet Money." The WBH subscribed to it ages ago, and we occasionally binge listen. "Sunk cost." Well, I sure am. My Amazon wishlist ebbs and flows, and I've added way too many new skeins of sock yarn to my stash. Still not dead, not sick, nor even mildly injured nor *gasp* sunburned. If it weren't for all the Covid stuff, this would be a really great summer.

Which Year Is It?
I've lost track of time. Without my usual appointments etc., I'm having trouble remembering what month it is, and the actual day eludes me way too often. Of all the missing normals, I miss my chiropractor appointment the most. But that's life everywhere these days.

I am watching my tiny coastal community tear itself into camps. On one side, we have the people who are completely terrified of just about everything. They want mandatory masks, no open-for-inside-dining restaurants, and maybe some sort of public shaming for everyone who isn't as terrified as they are. Still with the COVID
As I only leave our property maybe twice a week, I can't really speak to life on the coast these days. When I do make it off the place, it feels like everything suddenly speeds up. My truck might get driven once a week, but I'm the person driving it (slower every time), so when the WBH fires up the 4Runner, I feel like I'm in a post-apocalypse ( Read more... ) -
More Life Under COVID-19
As of tomorrow, May 1, masks are now mandatory when you're out and about. Can't remember if gloves are, too. I've been wearing both for weeks now, so this isn't a problem.
