As you probably know, my job right now is as a “regular” VISTA. You’re allowed to be in Americorps for 3 years, and I’ve seriously considered becoming a VISTA leader next year, someone who recruits, trains, and supervises VISTAs for a larger agency. Sculpting
Recently, I went to an open house at this place called Djerassi where artists go and live, apparently to make their art in seclusion. My mom and I walked around the hills where sculptures are randomly dispersed throughout the woods. This is the first time that I can say: I'm glad to be sick. For once, I'm well-rested and can't smell anything! It's great! We always celebrated "half-birthdays" in my family, and today is mine...24.5.
I also got my business cards today and that makes me feel cool. Or at least, business-like. -

Too tired to think of 12 more random things
I still don't "get" full-time work. It's not even 9pm and I'm tired enough to nod off to sleep. At work itself, I am SO bored-- I don't have nearly enough to do to fill 8 hours, and it's really frustrating. But, I did find some successful things to bring for lunch. The best were vegetarian chicken nuggets, which aren't bad at room temperature ( Read more... )
