changmin follows yunho up and he finds that everything is better, just like yunho had said it was. but after evolving to be able to live underground where there's very little oxygen, going back to the surface rendered him unable to acclimatise and his diaphragm refused to work, and he essentially suffocated to death at yunho's side. but they're happy, and even if he has to die, changmin finds that everything is okay again because they're together.

and like yunho said, everything is okay in the end. and it's the end. :) i hope that clears it up.

yes, changmin can't breathe. basically, having spent hundreds of years deep underground, humans have evolved to adapt to their surroundings so they can survive on less oxygen. going to the surface overdosed changmin on oxygen and since he needed large amounts of carbon dioxide to keep breathing, his diaphragm locked up and forced him to stop breathing in oxygen, but...you know, not breathing = dying :xxxx
