Post 3x14 O/S. Damon/Elena/Stefan

This was sooooo good Michelle! You took the words right out of my mouth about the whole triangle issue in 3x14. DE will only work out if Elena truly gets over all her Stefan feelings and issue to let Damon in her heart completely

This was great. I'm really looking forward to seeing a bit of jealous!Elena, and it was nice to read your take on how things could go. I think you got Damon's feelings pretty spot on, and I really liked the distinction you drew between Damon and Stefan's motivations at the end. I loved Rebekah's snarky comments about durability ;)

All the anger and furore over the last episode has had me thinking back to something Damon said in season 1: "If you think there isn't another part to it, then you haven't been paying attention". I feel like some people have managed to convince themselves that Elena is already head over heels in love with Damon, and Stefan should be totally out of the picture by now, but Stefan is very much still part of this story. I read an interview with Julie Plec recently where she talked about the fact that in her head, Elena is still in love with Stefan, and that's not something that's she's just going to quickly get over. I feel like you stayed true to all this in this fic, and that made it all the more realistic

A lot of people are really angry with Elena. I am too, a bit, but she does love Stefan, or at least she thinks she does. And that won't stop anytime soon I suspect. :(

You know what I am not really sad about her loving Stefan.. like I mentioned in my personal rant about this episode...a line that Morgan (morvamp said in one of her stories that it's easy to comprehend how simple it is to fall back into something; into someone. It's easy to push new feelings aside for the familiarity of what was there before.She can handle Stefan's love, she's never been uncertain of that. Damon's on the other hand, well she's never been sure anyone could handle that type of devotion, let alone reciprocate it. The notion was terrifying. You never ever really break ties from your first love, kinda the reason why Damon still wanted to get back with Katherine, even after he thought he kissed Elena and he knew he has feelings for Elena. Coz he knew what it was like loving Kat and being with her.. but Elena... it's a whole new kinda thrilling ball-game involving him falling in love with him brother's girl.. YET AGAIN

Elena is always talked up as being compassionate. I'm not quite sure why she lacks compassion when it comes to Damon. I suspect it has something to do with her feelings for him, and not knowing how to act, but I wish she could be a little more compassionate with him.

It's not a surprise to hear people are writing canon. I was uninspired to, other than TWTTT. It's really nice to hear you liked that.

First, Stefan is a dick and the fact that he harbors such animocity and selfishness towards this brother is unsettling. You did an excellent job describing Elena's conflicting feelings but what I think she fails to understand is that the world will not stop while she tries to sort out her Stefan drama. Plus I don't think she realizes just how much she yo-yos Damon with her behavior and the bit about the light switch showed that. If he feels he feels everything good and bad, she doesn't get to be selective about his feelings. While I am anger at her for her treatment of Damon, I agree they need a little distance. He needs some balance, and she needs to grow up and understand her impact on him and how much she takes him for granted. Last bit, Stefan's whole just wait until this is all done attitude is funny. He must really think he's the center of the universe if he can wait to try (and hopefully fail spectacularly) to win the girl.

Excellent job and I'll take as many random O/S as you feel like writing.
