[Oh, Shinjiro saw this. But, honestly... he couldn't think of one god damned thing to say. It reminded him all too much of his own recent pain... hell, the one constant, uncertain agony built into this city. Irrevocable loss. Worse than death in more ways than one. Maybe not for the people who left, but sometimes it went both ways
( ... )
[It takes a couple of minutes, but Kakihara slowly opened the door. He didn't even bother to look through the dusty peephole. Didn't bother grabbing a skewer or a knife. What did he care? He knew it was Shinjiro, and if it wasn't, so be it. A good fight, or being murdered would be pretty entertaining about now.
The door wasn't halfway open when the click click click sound began, quick in pace. And when the door revealed his guest he was greeted, but not by Kakihara. Kakihara just stood staring. Shinjiro was greeted by a panting, excited Shell, tail swaying and tongue hanging out as she hopped up and pawed at his legs repeatedly.]
/Video/ and also dear god Kakihara ;____;revolver_christJanuary 29 2010, 23:51:42 UTC
[Takaya's been deliberating on whether or not to answer for the last...however long, he doesn't even keep track of time aside from "Dark" and "Not Dark" nowadays. He doesn't even know Kakihara that well. Eventually he decides to say something, even if it's in that blunt matter-of-fact 'I have no idea what to say' tone of voice. It's still cold, as always, but it's lacking that sharp mocking tone he usually always has.]
He was precious to you.
[Yep, he doesn't have much else to say, and he's so tired right now he can't articulate something better at the moment. Not with that shoulder, all wrapped up in bandages from where the ReDead gnawed on him. Not to mention he just isn't good at this empathy shit.]
[Kakihara barely casts a glance to the communicator in his hand. Somehow that lack of care in his tone makes him feel a little bit better. He was never one for coddling or that false reaction of sympathy and alarm that strangers would give to someone they didn't even know. Drama was entertainment for anybody. Feeling like you're a part of someone else's moment was like a drug.
It was a drug that frankly Kakihara was not peddling.]
[If Kakihara wanted no sympathy, Takaya was the man to go to. Being an amoral prick obsessed with death and its processes tends to kill any sense of empathy one might have. He's not going to comfort or coddle, just...deadpan, really. If Jin were to disappear one day, he'd likely hunt down and murder anybody that tried to offer him sympathy, merely on principle.]
Perhaps someday he will return. It is not unheard of.
If he came back, I would probably slaughter him. ...If he didn't remember.
[That brought some life to his face. Kakihara turns his head, tips it down to look at the screen and clenches his jaw. With the way the light hits him, it's easy to see the man has minor injuries to his face- just small cuts and bumps. More importantly, there's a light in his eyes that wasn't there before.]
I would keep him for a while. I'd have to... I would show him what he was missing for as long as I could before I turned him loose. Back to the Scientists that took him to begin with to sew his pretty head back on. His first scars would be from me.

...Stop it.
Shinjiro. Come inside, please.
