Cuz I read a book about it....jetheadAugust 15 2008, 15:37:20 UTC
The "Low! Low! Low!" is basically to protect your head from luggage that may become dislodged from the overhead compartment. Planes will usually shake violently as they become unstable. If the plane is going down, the overwhelming odds are that everyone is going to die. (Except for infants. For some reason, infants held close can survive.) The "Low! Low! Low!" should also keep everyone in their seats so if a passenger renders unconscious from the intense drops in altitude - they will already be in position that will (hopefully) protect their head. The safest seats on the plane are, of course, first class, just behind the pilots and toward the rear of the plane, behind the wings NOT directly over the wings.

Well that's just dandy, isn't it? The people who are supposed to get everyone out of the emergency exits, are more likely to die before it gets tot he point. How nice.
my adrenaline is STILL up, several minutes after reading this. please post calming pics of blue water and cool gardens and lovely vineyards, soon! and your mom in her boozin' earrings, of course.
Hey! Jeff is still tweaking them in Iphoto, so I'll post them soon. Can we hang this week? I'd like to check out the new wine bar in my hood, Marc 49. Maybe we can hook up for dinner/cheese and wine when Mere is back?
