Lovely essay. I think you did a great job introducing gentiles to the world of fandom without sounding snobbish or overwhelming. Very interesting reading and I think you captured most of our feelings.

I really enjoyed this:) Like you I am obsessed with Glee and the gang at work definitely think I'm a little strange (and this before they even know I write fanfiction - lots of it).

first off, best eassy like ever read, i think mainly as everything said fully applies to me and to many others. i have often toyed with writing about the history of fanfiction myself, but with you pointing out about the magazines yes i can see the point about fandom being a thing the was born with the internet. fandom without the internet would just bee seen as a taboo or obsessive. another thing though that i have to say about reading the your eassy is that it has just come to me about the progresstion of it, for back in the days when it was just all starting out it was between charter but as the years have progessed more is being written about real people, fot example the actors. ( hey even me and my friends have a ship for the slash of boys at our school) and just yeserday i was commenting about a celeb obvesly being a fangirl. i fear this could mean that fandom in years to come could become a general thing and could mean tha a safe getterway could be in danger ( ... )

That was awesome. It made me smile (and occasionally lol). It made me miss you because I heard it in your voice. I can't wait to hear you quote Restless again. <3

I miss you, too. I'm home, actually! Well, for a week, anyway, then I go to Peru for three weeks. But I wanna see you this weekend!

That may or may not be possible, what with finals week in the works, as well as me working all weekend. You're welcome to come over and watch me write papers...

Aww.... When do finals end? Also, I might be able to visit you at work. Not sure how, with that whole not driving thing, but maybe.
