When you have to look away
When you don’t have much to say
I smiled when I saw him coming closer to me. I tilted my head, he tried his best to ignore me. But I kept silent, I wouldn’t ask anything to him. Not when he brought a tart with him and was now standing in front of me, even though if he turned his head away, avoiding me. But He knew so well… I was too impatient to wait…
“What is that, Sho-chan?” I asked. He looked at me.
“Your b`day cake,” he answered like it was nothing. “Sorry I couldn’t give you anything else except this… I had no time…”
“Where did you buy this cake?” I asked him again. He put the cake on the table and looked at me again.
“In a supermarket near the station,” he shrugged and walked away.
“Arigatou, Sho-chan… Nino told me that you asked him where you can buy cream for cake ingredients…” he turned to face me again.
“And Jun complained to me because you wasted his time when he had to help you make this cake… You have no talent at all… That’s what he said.” I smiled at him again and he smiled back….

“Urrmmm…” Sho cleared his throat from where he was sitting beside me for at least fifth time today.
“Nani, Sho-chan?” I asked him.
“I think you should wear your scarf…” he answered me.

“Just wear it, okay?” he hissed.
“But why? It`s not cold, I’m not going to wear it,” I pouted, I hated when he ordered me around without any reason. He sighed loudly.
“I need to go to the restroom,” I said to Ohno, Nino and Jun who were all eating with us tonight. I stood up and went to the bathroom. Not long after Sho followed me.
“What do you need?” I asked him.
“I don’t need anything, you`re the one who need the scarf,” he had brought my scarf with him.
“And why?” I asked him.
“Yo-your… hick-hickeys…” he softly stumbled over his words, his face getting redder. I turned around and faced the mirror to check my neck, and - yes!! There were some hickeys there. He put the scarf on my shoulders and started to walk out of the bathroom.
“I won’t wear it, Sho-chan… You`re the one who made them and why should I be bothered because of something that is totally your fault,” I said to him firmly. He closed the door without saying anything. But after a while I could hear something fall and I ran out of the toilet. I saw my boyfriend bowing and apologizing to a waitress because he had crushed into her trolley. I couldn’t help but smile softly and wear my scarf….

“Hello?” I could hear his voice greeting me, I tried to shield my handphone from the heavy rain.
“Where are you, Sho-chan? I`m waiting you for about an hour and it`s raining really heavily now,” I almost screamed in frustration. How he could’ve forgotten our date!
“Where are you?” he questioned back.
“In front of Usagi park, you’re the one who wanted me to wait here,” I waited for him under a tree but the rain was heavy enough to soak me.
“I`ll be there in a minute,” he said and cut the line. How could he make me wait like this! After some minutes I could see him running fast toward me, carrying an umbrella with him. But his clothes were damp.
“I`m sorry…” he said and took my hand bringing me closer to him.
“How could you make me wait like this?” I was nearly mad.
“I`m sorry…” he said again. I was mad at him but I couldn’t do anything, so I just followed him when he took me to a café near the park.
When we wanted to open the door someone opened them from inside. Ohno, my friend in university, was ready to leave the café.
“Ohh…You already meet him?” Ohno asked him. He smiled and nodded.
“Jyaa… See you guys later,” he opened his umbrella and walked away. I frowned.
“Where was it you wanted me to wait for you, Sho-chan?” I asked him.
“University park,” he answered me calmly.
God!! Yeah… He had said University park, not Usagi park. At that moment I noticed the price tag attached to the umbrella, he had bought it in a convention store near the Usagi park… He hadn’t brought an umbrella before at all and he might’ve been waiting for me in the rain… That’s why his clothes were damp… I sighed…
“Why didn’t you call me?” I asked. “You waited me for an hour right…?”
“Because I was worried you`d still be in class…” he answered me calmly and opened the café door…

“Okay… That’s too much Sho-chan,” I almost laughed when he sniffed softly. He rubbed his eyes and tears streamed down his cheeks. Yeah, we were watching a sad movie, but I couldn’t help myself but look at my boyfriend who was crying beside me. He wiped his tears using his sleeve, and I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Want me to get a tissue for you?” I asked him. He nodded without even turning to look back at me. His eyes looking straight at the television, not leaving the screen.
“Okay… Where are the tissues?” I asked him while walking to his room.
“On the table… Near the bed…” he answered me. I walked closer to the table and found a box of tissues. So I pulled out some sheets from it. Until something fell out of the box, just when I was pulling the third tissue.
That thing was rolling on the floor, then crushed in the cupboard lightly and fell near it. I moved closer to see it clearly. I kneeled down, and picked that thing up from the floor. A ring…?
There, inside the ring, I could read “Sho & Masaki”. I felt flustered and wanted to ask Sho about it. I quickly stood up and wanted to walk out of the room. But Sho already stood there, leaning against the door frame. He smiled at me.
“Marry me, Masaki…?”
