AN ARASHI FICTION QUEST
THE CHALLENGE
Write a drabble, ficlet, one-shot, multi-chapter story based on a song. That's all, that simple. Can be het fic, one pairing, multiple pairings, an OT3. But there are a few rules!
♫ NO ARASHI SONGS, including solos. Why? Because that's just too easy! And though there are several to choose from, it's better if we don't run into any "But I wanted to use Nino's Niji for my fic!" participation problems. ;D
♫ ONE SONG PER FIC. Whatever you choose to write should reflect one song, not several.
♫ TELL US WHAT SONG YOU USED. Otherwise, how do we know it exists?
WHAT KIND OF SONG?
ANY KIND OF SONG! It doesn't even have to have lyrics, so long as it inspires you. Songs about love, break-ups, flying to the moon, saving the world, the life of a redneck, the best friend ever, moving mountains, wish you were here, baby come back, gettin' drunk up in this club - whatever gives you ideas.
WHY?
Because most of us are inspired by songs anyway, but we don't always think to mention which ones. What better way to get creatively energized for fic about a band than by listening to music?
Not everyone in our fandom speaks English natively, not everyone remembers what Arashi's lyrics even mean - but music is the universal language. A good song is a good song. Period.
WHAT TO DO
No sign-ups.
No deadlines.
No obligation, no requester.
No pressure.
If you're interested? Go for it! If you're not, no big deal! Use a lyric as dialogue, use the lyrics to separate fic sections, just use the song to help you get in the mood, to form a plot - how you use the song is up to you. Just remember to put somewhere in the header that the fic is for this challenge, and let me know that you've done it so I can add your fic to the list I'll compile!
