Summary : Sakurai Sho and his little perfect group of friends - Ninomiya Kazunari, Ohno Satoshi and Matsumoto Jun - made a bet about which one of them would make Aiba Masaki fall for him. Why did Nino start the bet? And why did Ohno agree to join the game? Find that out in “Beyond the Bet.”

Ohno’s POV
My name is Ohno Satoshi, third year student in Sora high school. My personality is calmness as sometimes it would be so calm until no one would notice me in the room. I am a little too ordinary if compared with my gang: Ninomiya Kazunari, he is a game freak, he would change anything into a game; Matsumoto Jun, no one could really understand his personality, sometimes he would be cool and popular but sometimes he’s able to make himself seem invisible; and last but not least, the greatest prince Sakurai Sho, he’s been a friend since kindergarten, he is smart, rich and good looking. Perfect? Yes.. He was more than perfect, or other people thought so. But the truth has never failed to be cruel. He is a lonely one. He never really had any friends except for me, Nino and Jun.
Today, I am in Sho’s rest room as always. Nino tried to make everyone participate in his game as always. I could feel that he planned something that is related to Sho, or so it seems since he’s been smirking at Sho the whole time. I was there, silent and I looked as if I had no interest at all. But I still followed the whole conversation, all of it. Nino tried to persuade us to join his game of ‘Make Aiba Masaki fall in love with one of us.’ Who is Aiba Masaki? I just know that he was a student holding a scholarship with brilliant ranking, but that’s it, I know nothing more. Why did Nino think that he’s interesting, even making a game out of him? Then I saw him smirk at Sho again, and to make things worse, Jun almost agreed with this bet. I looked at Sho. He frowned and looked like he was troubled. I then realized that he was lying when he said he didn’t know Aiba Masaki, though I have never heard anything about this Aiba Masaki coming from him. Jealousy slowly crept into my heart.
"We will be playing with another human’s feelings" I said, trying to calm myself down. True enough, we could just be betting about fooling someone’s heart making that person fall for us, all this just to get a Wii from Nino or a car from Sho as Jun’s prize if Jun is really capable of making Aiba Masaki fall for him.
“Trust me, he won’t fall for you easily.” Nino answered. I looked at Sho once again, thinking. I can’t help you from Nino’s game this time Sho-kun.
“You’ve gathered information about him?” Sho questioned Nino. So.. this Aiba Masaki really had some connections with Sho. Sho has never shown any interest towards other people, but from the way he asked Nino, it’s clear that he was worried about it. We’ve been friends for a long time, so it’s not weird that I could understand his feelings even if he tried to hide them. Tried to hide them? Did I miss something here? He’s trying to hide something from me??
“I’m in.” I said as calm as ever, even though I was worried about this whole Aiba Masaki thing. Does he mean a lot to Sho?
“Wow!! Oh-chan!!” Nino almost jumped from his chair when he heard that I would actually participate in the bet. “C’mon Sho-kun..” he was back at Sho, trying to persuade the stubborn minded Sho to participate as well. If he were to reject again, then it will prove that he has special feelings for Aiba and wants to hide them from us. Or maybe he just didn’t want us to play with Aiba’s feelings because he meant a lot to him. I hated both options though. I rather not believe what I’m thinking of right now.
“This is ridiculous, I’m going back to class,” he said as he walked out of the room. This was ridiculous? I didn’t notice anything ridiculous about this though.. I’ve never seen any signs of Sho having interest in Aiba. Nino sure had a sharp intuition.,,
“Is this his sensitive problem?” Jun asked Nino. Nino just smiled and didn’t even try to answer him.
“We won’t start this game without Sho-kun.” Nino told us. I realized that from the beginning of the whole conversation.
“So what’s the point of this bet?” Jun asked.
“Sho-kun.” He answered calmly, as if it was the most natural answer.
“Huh?” Jun was clueless, Nino smiles at him again.
“I always have bad feelings when you smile like that.” Nino laughed hard when he heard what Jun said.
“I bet you do.” Nino continued laughing.
All of a sudden, the door slammed opened roughly. Sho stood at the door frame and stared at us with an angry and scary expression. His hand is trembling and his breath irregular. It’s obvious that he’s totally mad.
“I’m in!” he said, and closed the door, slamming it in process. We stared at each other for a while trying to make out what just happened. What is up with him? Then Nino tilted his head and looked as if he was deep in thoughts about something.
“I’ll ask him about this..” he said, standing up and walking out of the room. That was how we started the whole bet.

I never really thought about what I should do to make Aiba fall for me. From the very beginning, I just wanted to know why Sho would have any interest towards this guy. I tried to seek information about Aiba Masaki. Everyone knows as much as I did: A scholarship student, smart, kind. That was what I thought until I met a guy in the washroom. Actually, I didn’t meet him. I just overheard his conversation by accident.
“He was just amazing, awesome in fact. Just like the rumors said he’ll be.” he told his friend.
“But he’s a he~! I mean, Aiba Masaki is a boy!” I could actually hear the disgusted tone on his friend’s voice.
“So what? He’s great, and beautiful enough for my expectations. I will meet him again if given the chance.”
“You’re crazy.”
“I can bet you won’t be able to stop once you’ve felt his blow job.” he laughed. What did he say again? Blow job? Aiba Masaki gave a blow job to a guy? What is this crap? Does Nino know about this? And Sho?
When I took out my cell phone to contact Sho, it was vibrating, someone texted me.
From: Sho
Hey! Meet me in our room now?
What a coincidence, I need to talk to him about this..
To: Sho
Okay, I’m on my way.
I walked to our room and I couldn’t believe my eyes, seeing Aiba Masaki sitting in front of Sho’s room. He smiled and lightly bowed at me. I bowed back as manners and entered the room. What is he doing in here? And Sho answered my silent question.
“Aiba will live in my house...” He repeats when even Nino couldn’t trust his own ears.
“What the hell is going on with you and Aiba this past 2 days?” Nino asked. He looked happy though, maybe it’s because his plan is working. I wanted to know the reason as well, but all Sho said was, “A lot of things happened.” and he just wanted to stop our bet. He would even give his car to Jun just to stop the bet. I don’t really understand why Jun wouldn’t want to stop. Sho would willingly give him anything he wanted but he still chose to continue with the bet. They even end up yelling at each other. I never tried to confess my feelings to Sho because I don’t want to risk ruining our friendship, and this new guy by the name of Aiba Masaki is capable of making Jun and Sho shout at each other.
Jun left the room not long after Sho. He looked really pissed off. Nino and I were the only ones left in the room. He moved closer and sat down beside me.
“Gomen, Oh-chan” he sighed.
I smiled and shook my head, but asked “Why did you start this game in the first place?”
He looked at me then smiled. “Because Sho-kun has been falling in love with Aiba Masaki since… I don’t know when but I think it’s since our first year.” he answered. I could feel my heart slowly but surely breaking into pieces.

Ohno’s POV
