[ she turns on the feed, running a hand through her hair as she prepares what she wants to say. ]It has come to my attention that there are quite a few different people here, more so, even, than when I was last here. I’m glad to see so many people can, and are, getting along in spite of it, or perhaps because of it. Really, we ought to be ( Read more... )

[... Well, that's certainly nice and all, but--]

... Why vampires? Are there really enough here to warrant a group such as this?

Size of the group doesn't matter. What matters is how badly they are mistreated. I wanted to start with them and then perhaps move to other groups. This place is horrid enough without everyone ganging up on others who are different and pinning blame where it doesn't belong.

I wasn't aware of any discrimination in this place. [Hm. Maybe she shouldn't be as open as she's been about not being human, then.] Do you really think a group like this would end it?

Just because a person isn't aware of it doesn't mean it isn't happening. We're trying to at least open other people's eyes and help them see that there are other ways of dealing with our situation. It's rubbish that some aren't liked just because of what they are.

[Well, Leonhardt heard the feed while he was out picking up groceries, as strange as that may sound. That prompted a raised eyebrow from him but he's overall ignoring it. The idea of equality to him is just idiotic and he sure doesn't want to be on the same level as a bunch of weak humans, and especially not on the same level as those who deceive and let themselves be deceived.

However, he unfortunately can't avoid passing by the fountain all that easily on the way home. It is the best way to get out to C3 from the shops, after all. He looks a bit different since the last thread with him, more mature looking and a very troubled look in his eyes since his kidnapping effect finally wore off and he's back to his normal age. Good luck recruiting him, though.]

[ this is becoming a trend for her today. as soon as she sees him, she hops up, brandishing a badge in her hand. ]

Here, take a badge for S.A.V.E. It's the new organization.

[He looks a bit curious about it.] So if you advocate vampiric education could you perhaps educate me on what one is?

[Yeah, one of those worlds with no vampires, about the closest thing is some types of bats that are monsters and therefore must be killed.]

Also, I should say thank you for your assistance when I was under that effect. It finally went away after a month.

Traditionally, vampires are known as creatures of the night. There are various methods of becoming one, often called 'turning,' that usually involve blood, either of the human, the vampire sire, or both. Becoming a vampire in any way means the person in question is effectively dead and need blood to survive. Some types are worse than others about acquiring that blood, to my understanding, but I don't believe all vampires are inherently evil. That's like saying all dogs are evil or all humans are. It's rubbish. [ yeah, she has strong feelings on this subject. ]

You're welcome. Any kind of effect like that is cruel to have to suffer alone. I hope nothing like that happens to you again.

['To be honest, that motto sounds more like an ad campaign for a retirement planning financial services company than anything else, to me.

As for the "wizard" stuff, I feel like it would be best to ignore that until I absolutely have to confront whatever weirdness is going on there.

On another note, I suppose when you create a society in your fourth year, you have enough time to make it look good on your resume by college, even if it is about something like "Elvish Welfare", whatever that means. Neat trick.']

Correct me if I'm misinformed, but I'm under the impression that if you're only by the fountain all day, you'll miss out on vampire members who can only attend at night.

I was planning on staying out during the night as well. I won't miss anybody.

Sounds like a pretty long time to sit in one place handing out badges.

I'll do it over the course of a couple of days. It's worth the time and effort. [ this is the girl who knit a million articles of clothing to free the house-elves at hogwarts... ]

Gotta say, the vampires are definitely getting better treatment than this spew. [ lol Hermione.

But, seriously: ] How is this S.A.V.E. [ - "save" - ] going to help bring equality to all those who are undead and in possession of fangs? Are you militant or something?

[ SIGH. ]

S.P.E.W. and S.A.V.E. [ please get it right, people! ] If it informs people of what some vampires are doing, the good they are doing and how many of us are not being hurt because of them, I think it would be a good start to it. And no, I don't plan on bringing in any military or anything similar. That would rather defeat the point.

Right. [ She'll stick to spew and save, thanks.

... Okay, this she can somewhat get behind. If it weren't for the loopholes she's seeing. Of course, the loophole is Angel-sized and very broody. But it's a good idea, nonetheless. She just wonders if people will care enough to listen. ]

And you're going to - what? Big Brother the vampires? Microchip them? [ Ha, Angel with a microchip. ] Some of the vampires I know aren't exactly good with words. Some of them can't even speak. And the ones who can't? Don't like to share.

[ sobbing. ]

No. I'm going to keep pushing for other people to understand that not all of them are evil creatures. If the ones you know of choose to do ill towards the rest of us, that's their problem. There are good vampires out there and if we don't all stick together - on this issue and just living together peacefully - Luceti won't be a decent place to live until we get home.

[The subject of equality amongst non-human sapients is one that interests a man who has a personal stake in such matters.]

... Wh-why is it... simply limited to vampires...? Are there not... o-other non-human sapients who... deserve equality in Luceti...?

[He's more curious about the fact that it's for a species that, so far, feels relatively uncommon in Luceti. Perhaps it's simply that he doesn't talk to the right people.

... Well, that, and one of his closest friends is a Watcher for a Slayer. He hasn't heard the nicest things about vampires.]

Because I thought it was a good start. Yes, there are others who deserve the same thing and I'd like to work towards giving it to them someday. But you can't try to do it all at once or it won't go anywhere. That's why I chose one this time and next time I'll choose another to add on.

[That seems... like an odd sentiment to Robert. Partial equality?]

... I s-suppose it is good to... have somewhere to b-begin from. But... I w-would wonder whether it... would not be better to find the worst-afflicted groups f-first...

... Are vampires held in such... p-poor esteem, here, overall?

[... He really wouldn't know.]

They are as far as I've heard. What groups do you think ought to have something like this?
