Soldier, Sailor, Candlestick Maker...

Ashwin grew up first at High Reaches Hold, and then at Tillek. He did go out on boats, but it turned out he was a terrible seasicker, so in the end he settled first for building them, and then for joining the guard. Roa wrote about what might have happened if her life had gone differently; if J’lor had never impressed, and the Instigators had ( Read more... )

I sigh blissfully. This is wonderful and you absolutely have her. Confident, arrogant, sweet, certain. She wouldn't have bothered to ask. She would have seen what he needed (or what she presumed he needed) and simply moved forward.

I like that in some ways Ash is very much the same, but in some ways he's bolder too. And in some ways he's a little more closed off, even around Roa, than he is as a guard. Part of that is I suspect this Roa doesn't work quite so hard to get him out. She doesn't shy away so easily, and becasue she never asks, he never has to say. Which, I suspect, suits him.

I love that she makes him keep his weyr and then, of course, has quite taken it over.

I love that he irritates her just to hear her say his name.

Thank you. <3

This is me, better late than never. :p I had something I wanted to say and then forgot it and then refused to come back here until it came to me because sometimes I endeavor to come up with more than a little comment about how awesome something was.

So, now that I have rambled. I really did love this. I love so much that Ashwin and Roa are /together/. In different realities and RL and everything. It's a constant on the game and in the universe that all these characters inhabit and it's interesting for that. Ashwin+Roa is really the one thing that remains the same. (Other than E'sere's mad dash for power.) So, it's the one NICE thing that remains the same and I <3 it for that.
