National Coffee Day
Today is national coffee day
the concept brought a smile.
This quiet morn has let me sip
my java for a while.
How nice of them to give a day
in honor of my “joe”.
So I have put my home brew down.
To Starbucks I now go.

I feel the earth
her throbing drum beat pounds beneath my feet.
I feel the wind
her chilling touch, her air is cold and sweet.
Sweetwater fill my mouth with life
please quench my now parched soul.
Red Earth I'm home
your sacred land will make my spirit whole.

In morning’s quiet stillness
I reach out to this new day,
to endless possibilities
the good Lord sends my way.
To love, to laugh, to give, to aid
to do all that I can
to demonstrate the grace of G-d
and help my fellow man.

what a perfect day
A thousand little things all went right this day.
I believe it is as close to a perfect day as I have ever had. Not one problem, not one bad driver, every parking space. Four calls all with good news. Wonderful thoughts of loved ones.
A day of peace and joy.

My Lord, what a morning
The sun is shining. Though winter's cold still hangs in the air, the sky is robin's egg blue. A delightful change from the rainy gray of these last few days.

It's colder than a witch's heart.
That ground hog has gone blind.
No shadow brings an early spring
and winter stays behind.
Old Phil must not have looked outside.
There's still snow on the ground.
I don't think any time real soon
spring's coming back around.

My heart is warmed when I look down
for sleeping at my feet
is the best friend a girl could have
a joy for all to meet.
Loving, faithful, loyal, true
in good times or in strife.
There is no joy that can replace
the dog who shares my life.

My mystery gift has opened
A few days ago I received an LJ gift from Pug. Try as I might I couldn't figure out how to open the box. So I enjoyed the fact that Pug cared about me enough to send me a gift. On a whim this morning I checked the box, it opened and a little gopher came out. Think I'll name him Go-Go. He has just become my LJ mascot. Now if I could figure out ( Read more... )
