What amazing pictures! I want to go there, lol. I love how the first one looks like glacier ice busting through limestone and in the second one he's she's stemming two huge pillars.

It bugged me, so I went and looked it up. :) The first picture was professionally taken in La Queyras mountains near Ceillac in the Hautes-Alpes, France.
I found a holiday report about it--one of the few Google hits that weren't in French! lol
Thanks so much. It sounds beautiful. I want to go dangle my toes in Lac Miroir and admire all the blue gentians. And the little village of St. Veran looks like my kind of place to read a book and eat lunch.
Just maybe when I finally get to see Rome (have never been!) I can sneak through this spot too.
I once did a study abroad in France, but this isn't one of the areas I visited. The closest I got was Chamonix or coastal Provence.
