There are only two plants flowering in my garden this cold and drizzly May day so here are photos I took earlier.

The first is hellebore, right? The second--another hellebore? The flower looks like a primrose, but the size of the plant looks like a strawberry. I've been meaning to post garden pics, but I've been too busy obsessing over my garden. I even got down and measured some plants last night when I thought I botched the placement last fall.

This is going to sound like a lie, since I've liked many of your quilts, but I think that is my favorite so far. In fact, it looks like the mini quilt (the only quilt) I made-- only much nicer. One of the fabrics is the same, even. Mine, however, is just squares.

Perhaps I'd better get around to loading and posting pics...

Oh duh - I forgot to name the plants, didn't I. Yes, the second is a strawberry. I forget the variety but I'm hoping for more fruits than we got last year - 4. There are lots of flowers so it's nearly time to net up.

The first plant is my newly planted clematis - clematis montana 'Broughton Star'. I chose that one b/c it stays small and doesn't need pruning but from the picture it does look like a hellebore.

Well, thank you. :} Colour is a very personal thing, more so when combined with quilts so it goes without saying that everyone won't like everything I share and that's okay. :} I should like to see your mini quilt - and check out which fabric is the same! [grins] So, yes please, loading and posting some of your pics would be brill! In a free moment. ;)

You've got strawberries in bloom already? Wow. Or isn't it strawberries at the bottom? My guess is the same as Zia's - hellebores on top, strawberries below. Nice quilt too.

As for dem shiny red bugs - when I complained to my uncle that they have no natural enemies, he replied that it seemed like tall, two-legged females fit the bill. Ha ha bloody ha. I hate those bugs, but thankfully it seems we've managed to squash'em all so far, as the lilies are sporting great buds.

Yes, we have. They've been in flower for about a week now. The top flower is Clematis montana 'Broughton Star', but it is very hellebore-like in that photo. It's deceptive b/c it's in close up.

As for dem shiny red bugs - when I complained to my uncle that they have no natural enemies, he replied that it seemed like tall, two-legged females fit the bill. [mild snort] Or even medium height females. My lilies are 6" high so far but not nibbled yet.

Clematis in bloom too? *is jealous* I dug up our clematis last weekend, as it was thoroughly dead.

And now: sleepytime tea. If I can get out from underneath this furball who has commandeered my arms as a bed. Lovely and charming and all that, but a bit awkward to write... ;-J
