It had been a stressful day. Wolfwood was gone and Legato was being a creeper like always. Oh, and he was still sick. Much better than he was a few days ago, but he still felt lightheaded when standing and this stuffed nose was driving him nuts by keeping him up all night.

When he suddenly felt a crushing weight fall on top of him his body reacted without needing any thought from his brain. All it knew was it was apparently under attack and needed to defend itself. It didn't care that it was possibly a poor, confused new feather.

With a yelp of surprise he shoves the weight off of himself and draws his hidden semi-automatic out to point at the intruder. Which is about the same time that his mind catches up with his body.

WAIT! Those are white pants that man is wearing. He's not a droid and doesn't seem at all controlled by Legato.

With a sheepish grin he lowers his weapon slightly, yet finger still on the trigger just in case. "Hahaha, sorry about that friend. You gave me a bit of a fright."

I'M THINKING THIS IS 1/2? crybabyofdeath May 20 2011, 03:30:30 UTC
You know, despite his life experience of being a human weapon, becoming a projectile out of nowhere was certainly a new experience for Livio. The good news was that he had enough sense to get off his friend as soon as he realized exactly what happened.

The bad news was that being fresh out of the lab meant he wasn't exactly at the peak of coordination. Which translated into jumping off with the approximate grace of a startled cat. If cats were capable of getting drunk.

YEP, THAT WAS 1/2. crybabyofdeath May 20 2011, 03:34:48 UTC
And hello significantly-more-blond Vash who doesn't seem to be as trusting as usual.

You know, if that landing wasn't kind of painful he'd be inclined to believe that this was really some sort of bizarrely lucid dream. A dream where Vash is completely blond, he lost his cool clothes, and everyone is an angel for no real reason. Well, it was either that or he's completely lost his mind. Which would actually have been a possibility except he didn't have a reason to go insane this time.

But well, first thing is first. Sitting up now he looked at his "friend" apologetically "Are you okay?". Normally at this point he'd rush over to help and fret a little more but this was really, really... strange for so many reasons it was going to take a little bit to adjust to everything.

"No harm done." Vash just laughs and decides it would be alright to sit down and set his gun aside. Close enough to grab, but no need to frighten the poor new feather. He's going to have enough to be freaking out over soon enough. "I've been told I have a pretty hard head, are you alright?"

"Uh, yeah I'll be fine..." that is, when things actually started to make sense, but that part of the sentence really didn't need to be said at this point. It's slowly dawning on him that it wasn't just the hair: Vash was acting a little... different then he normally does. At this point though he still assumed it was from being hit out of nowhere instead of not actually remembering him.

There was an awkward pause.

"Do you have any idea what's going on?"

"Yeah, I'm afraid I do." Vash sighs and starts looking around for Livio's journal. They typically follow people places. "I'm also afraid, that you've been kidnapped. Uh, welcome to Luceti?"

Vash finds the journal where it fell close to the couch and starts flipping through the pages. Working on bringing up the guide as he talks. "Everyone here has been brought here from different worlds and times. There's a barrier around the town that no one can break or get through, but it's not all bad. Everything here is free."

Vash has always been a fan of tell one bad thing and one good thing.

You know, this might not be so bad until he runs into Wolfwood and/or Legato crybabyofdeath May 20 2011, 04:19:24 UTC
Vash will have to excuse him for a minute or two while he even attempts to process that information. It certainly answers a lot of questions, but at the same time it raises so many more. Questions like, how that is even possible? Just what thing, creature or otherwise was even capable of that? And why would they want to do it?

Of course some of these questions will be answered vaguely in the guide, but for now he'll just sit stewing in his own thoughts while Vash works on finding it.

Given houw utterly fantastic this day has turned out to be, it's little surprise that Amelia turns in early. Not that she'll be able to sleep; honestly, she doubts anyone will, between Wolfwood being kidnapped and Legato showing up for the first time since the experiment. But Amelia is determined to try. If nothing else, maybe keeping her eyes shut and her journal closed will make the time go by quicker.

But that apprently isn't to be, as a loud crash resounds from the living room just as Amelia begins to doze. She shoots up in bed, grabbing for the gun just beside the nightstand. Her first fear is that Legato's found them, found her--and the quiet that follows doesn't exactly ease her mind. But even sick, Vash should be able to get off a few shots, shouldn't he ( ... )

Vash stops his page turning to peer back at Amelia. "Aw, Amelia-chan! I'm just helping this new feather who just showed up! Uh..."

He grins sheepishly again back to Livio. "I'm sorry, I should have asked for you name by now. I'm Vash."

Seconds later, the peace is once again shattered by Milly bursting from Wolfwood's room, brandishing her stun gun and sporting an uncharacteristically furious expression.

"They're not going to take anyone else!"

Of course, his attention was immediately turned towards Amelia; a woman who seemed to be friends with Vash and that he had never seen or heard of. Not that he exactly had time to meet all of his friends. Or maybe she was his girlfriend, considering the "-chan" part.

If they really took people from different times then this is before they met at any rate, even if he is still trying to grasp how that is even possible. Not to mention that it still really hurt that one of his only friend's has no idea who he is.

He was just about to say something then that... blond woman with Vash who's name he never caught burst into the room like they were under attack. With a giant gun. It would be a lie to say that he didn't jump a little at that.

Over all, this definitely ranked up there on both "the most awkward time he's ever had in his entire life" and "situations you would never expect to find yourself in" scale.

I hate it when they do that. goldenglasses May 21 2011, 00:36:35 UTC
Vash is up in a flash, putting himself between Livio and Milly, you never know when something might accidentally be triggered when someone is under stressed after all.

"No, it's alright, Milly. It's a new feather. Not a droid. No one is being taken."

"Don't call me that." Amelia is quick to correct Vash, since -chan is in no way, shape, or form actually part of her name. And if he actually manages to get strangers calling her that, there will be no end to the amount of payback she'll get.

She barely has a chance to get that out, however, before Milly comes bursting into the room as well. Given the other woman's warning, it's clear where her heart is. Amelia feels a pang of sympathy, but she's moving too--not as fast as Vash, of course. Who honestly could match that speed?

"We're all here." She's not typically one to offer comfort or anything like that, but Amelia knows that they'll have to divide their attention, at least until Milly calms down. She reaches out to put a hand on Milly's gun, hoping to prompt the other woman to lower it. "Come on. You're going to scare the new guy coming out like that."

Milly blinks for a moment, looking between Vash, Amelia, the mayhem in the living room and finally the rather dishevelled and finally the dusty looking newcomer in the middle of all the debris covered in bits of plaster and debris.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just a little bit frazzled. It's been a very bad day. Are you alright?" She puts her gun aside, satisfied that it's not a droid about to kidnap anyone else. "You poor thing, it must be awful to fall down through a ceiling like that. Did you hurt yourself?"
