[Frey had wandered off from the group just a bit, mostly to check on those wings. Was it a new type of Third Party Soldier?

But no, it was a kid.... with rainbow wings. What in the world.]

[He hasn't noticed Frey yet - kinda in the middle of a battle here, so his focus is drawn elsewhere. A few third party soldiers are closing in, and he fiercely casts a spell to stop them in their tracks.]

Judgment!

[Kaori isn't very far away, they may as well be back to back with how close she is to him. Her green eyes are closed out of habit so that she may better focus on manipulating the earth their enemies stood on, muttering under her breath. The high amount of water made it much more difficult than it normally would be, something that has frustrated her these past days.

Trapping them so that they can't easily evade the giant beams of light, she vaguely notices that there's a familiar presence nearby. But focusing on their opponents is a little more important than saying hello to Frey right now.]

[Frey's started by the beams of light, but seeing Kaori there fighting amongst them is even more startling.] Kaori?!

[Please tell him that is an ally or he will snip them out of the sky with magic right damn now.]

[Mithos fires concentrated bursts of mana from his palm - three in quick succession, each aimed at a different soldier. The attacks hit their targets, including one soldier whose weapon had been poised to strike Kaori, and send them flying back several feet.

These enemies are not difficult to defeat, but their sheer numbers drag the battle out. As soon as one falls, another appears to take its place. Like clockwork.

Even as focused on the fight at hand as he is, his enhanced angelic hearing picks up on the unfamiliar voice. Did someone just call out Kaori's name...? But there isn't time to wonder about that right now.]

[What was Frey doing here? He could get hurt, wasn't he supposed to be with Masaomi and them? Unless something really had happened, just as she feared.]

Freyjadour?! [Her attention is divided between him and trying to avoid the attacks of the soldiers as they pressed in more close to her. She was at such a disadvantage in this environment it was amazing she had managed to go on this long. But the effects of wear show immediately in her shallower breathing.]

[Frey soon realizes his mistake in calling out as he notices her distraction, and he rushes in to her defense, sending a hard hit with his staff at one of her attackers.] Careful!

[...Someone...Kaori knows? Is he an enemy, or...? Then why hadn't she told him about this person? He's not...a human, is he?

He makes the mistake of glancing over at them a moment too long; a soldier is lunging for him, spear ready. Quickly, he evades to the side and launches another potent photon of mana. At this close range it's enough to send the enemy sailing backwards, slamming against the broad trunk of a tree.

Back to the stranger for a quick second. Rather than distracting Kaori by asking her, she'll just ask him directly.]

Who are you? [Just listen to that hostile suspicion. Taking care of another enemy in the meantime, in much the same fashion as the first.]

[Her eyes widen again at the amount of people coming close, frustration coming through her. She was only any good for close combat, and back home the other guardians never allowed for any attackers to get this close to the person they would be entrusted with protecting. They were getting to close to Mithos.

So she allows herself to fall into the survival mindset she adopted on the streets, using sheer strength and her knives to knock out as many people as possible. There really was no distinguishing friend or foe right now.]

A friend of Kaori's!

[Frey's going to try to stay out of Kaori's way, but he's going to keep on making sure no harm comes to Kaori from those soldiers she's fighting, attacking any that get near her. Whether that puts him in her line of attack is to be seen.]

[The sword is coming out now. He slashes through an advancing soldier with relative ease, before quickly turning parry another's attack. It won't be long before that one is felled as well.

The middle of a battle isn't really the place to let one's mind wander, but that statement is...strangely unsettling. A puzzle piece found after the puzzle has already been completed. He had assumed that Kaori was as alone as he was, but this person is claiming to be her friend. If that's true, is he...like them too? Is he just lying? Mithos has no idea what to think.

Or what to say in response. For now, he remains silent. Focus on the fight - that's far less complicated.]

Freyjadour, get out of here! [Not only was it too dangerous because of the Third Party attacking him, but because she didn't know what Mithos was going to do to him. And if they really were so alike... then Frey needed to leave before Mithos acted on those emotions that could so easily rage out of control.]

I'll be fine!

I'll be fine, too. There's no reason not to fight together, and we're suppose to stay in groups anyway. [Frey sees no problem with fighting together here: it's safer, and quicker then fighting solo. He knows Kaori can handle herself, but there's no reason to not stick close, right?]

[Mithos isn't any closer to pinning down how he should feel about Frey, but by default he leans heavily toward "distrust". The connection with Kaori continues to trip him up. It's ground that keeps shifting underneath him.

But she doesn't appear to want him around, and he'll take that as his cue. After cutting down another enemy, he whips around to face the newcomer.]

She said leave. We don't need your help.

[Kaori remains silent, focusing on manipulating the earth surrounding them to keep the soldiers at bay. THey could very easily lose focus of their situation if things get out of hand. Frey had to leave while he could, before that rage gets the better of her halfling friend.

Please just go.

She wants it so much, she doesn't notice the enemy coming dangerously close to her from the side.]

[Frey does notice, though, and rushes towards her in an attempt to stop an attack.] Kaori, look out!

[Thinking quickly, he mutters a short spell under his breath and unleashes a blast of white hot magic: A blade of light shooting directly at the soldier.]
