Third as well? Derp. semper_cogitans June 14 2011, 04:03:44 UTC
[Robert remembers Lucy, and she is being so damn adorably cheerful that there is no way he cannot walk right up to her and smile in her direction.]

Lucy! You're looking absolutely glowing today. It's been far too long since we've talked... are you keeping well?

[He's definitely a lot less awkward since the last time they had a conversation. Is that actual social competence he has there? ... Huh. Yes it is.]

Pretty much! See, according to a theory back at home, all actions - all actions - pretty much spin off into their own universes that happen because of those actions. It's kinda crazy-sounding, but I think Luceti almost proves it. I mean, look at all the different versions of Terra - or Earth - that are represented by Luceti... Everybody has to be from a completely different world, because of how they all work.

Well... all kinds of stuff! Everything from things as significant as whether to, say, research a certain topic, to something as mundane as what colour of shirt you want to put on. All of those decisions influence stuff... in some way. Whether it's big or small.

[It's not fate or destiny - there's still a choice made - but certain actions follow from other actions, and certain outcomes follow from certain action combinations. That's just logic.]

Yep, exactly! It seems like a silly, small difference... but you never know how things would've gone if you wore that other shirt then, right?

It's small stuff like that. Small stuff that I think adds up to the big changes that we all have here in Luceti.

Well, that might be true - I mean, I don't think I could know exactly - but somebody might! Some version of me.

... It's why I think, sometimes, people don't remember coming back here even though they have.
