Amelia's week could only be described as horrible. From its beginnings with Legato through the assorted mishaps since, there have been no end to the stresses and strains--or now, the leaves stuck in her hair. At this point, the one thing she hoped for was to make it safely back to the apartment, find the bathroom empty, and claim the tub for an hour of safe and much needed soaking.

She was making her way through the plaza, paying less attention to her surroundings than picking the last of the leaves from her hair, and of course being certain her hat stayed firmly on her head. A stray gust prompted an almost paranoid grab at the brim, blocking Amelia's vision just long enough for her to bump into someone walking nearby.

"Oh! I'm so sorry." And so clumsy, a trait she's displayed in abundance this week. Amelia looked up at the (very) tall man, recognizing him as the one who crashed through Vash's ceiling a while back. "Are you okay?"

Unfortunately for Amelia, he saw her not as a friend but as a potential victim. Something that needed to be hurt, something that needed to die. He could almost feel his other half trying to rush forward at the very thought of her corpse on the ground, but his mental block had become strong.

He stood there unanswering now that his mind was in a very different place.

He was intently watching her not with concern but as a predator. Eyeing her weaknesses. She didn't appear to be armed, which was wonderful news for him. In fact, nearly everything about her seemed to indicate that if he had the mind to attack now there would be absolutely nothing she could do to stop him. A normally frightening thought now seemed enthralling.

Even before whatever had supposedly changed her, Amelia knew how dangerous a look like that could be. Now, overwhelmed by fear and an uncontrolable sense of helplessness, she was struck by the way he watched her even more strongly. Every instinct screamed to run, but she could only manage a few steps backward before she stopped, all but paralyzed.

She had no gun thanks to Wolfwood, no way to even pretend to put up a fight. And really, a single look into her eyes told all too plainly just how trapped she was. This man was dangerous, and Amelia was trapped, unable to make a move to stop whatever he attempted.

That fear was all he needed to launch his new found instincts into overdrive. Without hesitation he grabbed her by the top of her head, the other on her shoulder. She wouldn't have to worry about that pesky hat anymore. In fact, with one little twist she wouldn't have to worry about anything anymore.

While it was clear that she wasn't going anywhere, he still hesitated to make the finishing blow. Not on his own accord, but rather a very annoying interruption. His body has not been completely his own for nearly his entire life, and regardless of any sort of block he was always under internal surveillance. That sudden murderous impulse was all Razlo needed to break his way through, closer to the surface.

Livio! What the hell do you think you're doing?

Amelia would have hardly noticed the difference, other then that her would be murderer is now suddenly frozen in place himself. Yet internally a power struggle had began.

Her heart was pounding, in her chest and through her head, under those rough fingers that held Amelia so firmly in place. There'd barely been time to breathe before the man had grabbed her, barely time to think before she should have been dead. But for some reason the man had stopped, although he kept Amelia in a tight hold.

Time ticked by, too much, and Amelia couldn't tell if she had been counting seconds or just the racing beat of her own pulse. The need to do something was all but out-weighed by her powerlessness, and Amelia could only clutch weakly at the arms that held her in place for those long moments until something in her clicked, and she screamed.

"SOMEONE HELP ME!!"

It was the flurry of motion that caught Legato's attention. Not the sight or sound of it, but the feel. Around the corner of the building, a violent tangle of signals against his mind. The image that it automatically painted in his head was a brutal one, so he was already on his way to investigate when he heard the scream-- simply validating his suspicion.

Rounding the corner, there was a brief moment where he halted up, simply staring. Morbidly fascinated, wondering if this man really was about to kill her, right here.

this might be obvious, but for the record bold italics are Razlo, Regular italics are Livio crybabyofdeath June 17 2011, 06:25:06 UTC
He was. Or, at least that was his intention. There would have been no question about the state Amelia would be in had Razlo not been around.

However Razlo was very present at the moment. The event had effected him too after all, reversing his blood lust into an almost desperate need to keep people living. Nobody was an exception to this and he wasn't about to tolerate Livio killing anyone. Something that he would make abundantly clear in his attempts to push Livio into switching out. He repeated his question now:

What the hell are you doing?

This time, he answered back:

Forgive me Razlo.
What, are you trying to kill her or something?
This is who I am... I'm sorry.
Knock it off with the "I'm sorry" shit already! That's a lie and you know it!

Outwardly, there still was no change, until his grip suddenly tightened. Resistance from Razlo or not: this was something Livio truly had the focus and drive to do, and unless something happened he would fight tooth and nail for enough control in order to do it.

The answer to Legato's internal question was clearly yes, and this was something that Legato quickly decided he did not particularly want to see happen. So, with decisive focus on the nerves in the man's arms, he mentally grabbed them up and tightened his grip, seizing up the muscles until they locked.

"...What do you think you are doing?"

how you suffer. thedicearecast June 17 2011, 07:05:19 UTC
Amelia had no idea of the conflict happening within the man holding her; all she knew was that his grip tightened, and she gasped, startled and pained, certain she was about to die. Yet the decisive blow didn't come, not before a familiar voice questioned her captor.

"L-Legato?" Amelia barely whispered the name, afraid to be right. He sounded almost like he disapproved of what the stranger had nearly done, but how could that be? Still, if it was true, then maybe Amelia had a chance. She could only hope that it wouldn't end by walking into some trap Legato had set.

Livio didn't have to hear his question in order to know it was him. He had known the second his body was completely frozen. That familiar, unnatural sensation of having your body clamp like a trap. There was only one person he knew that was capable of that.

"I should be asking you that." Temporarily distracted from Amelia now to turn his attention. His look was cold, focused, distant. Yet despite his normally professional nature, Legato's presence created a spark of fury in him. Being robbed from his kill by a man who had dedicated his entire life to making others suffer and perish was infuriating to say the least.

He knew from experience that there was no way he would be unbound by Legato however he was in no mental state to act rational. Killing Amelia was something he felt absolutely necessary, and the combined external and internal resistance had snapped his normally long fuse. As futile as it was, he was resisting.

The man's fingers were next, slowly peeling back to release Amelia, as Legato wandered closer. Really, it felt good to be able to exercise his ability on someone again. Reassuring really, with how crippled he'd been feeling lately. It was almost enough to improve his mood all on its own.

"Me? It seems as though I am staring at a disgusting and uncalled-for display of brutality, at the moment."

Glancing to Amelia then, with the faint touch of a smile on his lips. How did you get yourself in this situation, girl?

"Unless she has done something to deserve it?"

Amelia wouldn't question her sudden freedom, at least not before she put some distance between herself and Livio. She held still, barely daring to breathe as she felt the fingers move away one by one, until at last she ducked out of the man's hold. Whatever his reasoning, Legato had saved her--and right now, she had no one else to turn to. So almost without thinking, Amelia ran toward the man that had frightened her so much, told her such horrible things, and kept her from being snapped in two like some twig on the ground.

"I didn't." Amelia didn't know if Legato was joking, if he'd really leave her to fend herself against that man if someone claimed she did deserve to die, but better to add in her two cents now. She turned back toward the pair once she was a few paces away from Legato, anxiously watching to see how the situation would resolve.

Hey I finally get to use my Legato icon while talking to Legato crybabyofdeath June 21 2011, 02:07:23 UTC
Legato was by far the last person he would ever want to lecture him on uncalled for acts of violence.

"How strange. Not long ago you seemed to enjoy those. Unless dieing has given you a new perspective." Something he sincerely doubted, more so since he was well aware that Legato also enjoys toying around with others.

Physically, he still fought to regain complete control over his body. He was now more determined then ever to snuff out both of their lives. Even if it meant he had to tear and regenerate every muscle in his body to do so. Still, Legato wasn't his only enemy in this fight, and the more time passed the more he felt that it would take every last shred of strength from within to overcome both external and internal resistance.

Strength that he would put to the test now. Tearing himself against Legato's will. Every fiber in his body screaming with pain as he inched himself forward.

Stop it Livio! If there was one thing Livio did that was infuriating to Razlo, it was intentionally doing things that would harm himself ( ... )

It takes a lot for surprise to break through Legato's empty expression, and this man manages it two-fold. Not only did the stranger recognize Legato and his tendencies, but knew of his death. His mind flicked for a moment, going over who in this world he had told of his demise yet, wondering where the information could have come from.

And then there was the damage that the man caused to his own body in order to fight Legato's hold. The individuals who had enough will and disregard for their own safety to resort to that were always so interesting."It is strange how these things can change, isn't it ( ... )

Vash HAD been on his way to the bakery to get some donuts. That was until he had noticed the man who had crashed though his ceiling not too long ago. And Amelia. And Legato.

Amelia looked scared and the man, Livio had been his name didn't look to be doing so well in Vash's eye.

"Legato stop!" Gun raised, Vash pointed it towards the true threat here. The man with blue hair. He obviously must have gone after Amelia and Livio had tried to stop him. He should have warned him about Legato's power when he had the chance, but the man had, had enough to soak in just waking up in Luceti back then. Oh well, mistakes could always be fixed after all.

"Let him go."

Amelia hadn't known before that moment, and she stares up at Legato's back with wide eyes. So he's dead too, just like Wolfwood--by whose hand? The question of course immediately comes to mind, given what she knows of Legato and his plans, of what he's trying to do to Vash. But she can't ask it. She won't, because instinctively she fears the answer ( ... )
