Jack had Murphy standing by as wing man, just in case.

Gallantly, Jack extends a hand toward Kay. This is not Jack's kind of music. This is PROBABLY not Kay's kind of music, either. But it could be danceable.

She smiles wryly when he offers her his hand. What's an evening without some dancing, after all? "All right, all right--let me finish this." Once she's drained the last of her cocktail and set it on a free bit of counterspace, Kay takes his hand. Jack better have some idea how you dance to music like this, because she sure doesn't.

And Kay is so tangoable tonight. With a dramatic turn, the pirate sends his cowboy hat sailing onto the bar as he pulls the woman close against him.
"Now, Mistress Kay----now we dance as they do in España. Like we are to DIE from it. Olé!"

Tango, she can't promise much for, but at the moment, it seems like it's worth trying. It's been months since she's gone out dancing at all, and the familiarity of it--even with the promise of foreign steps--is enough that she'd likely still be in a good mood if Jack tried to dip her and dropped her by accident.
"All right," Kay tells him merrily, setting her free hand on his upper arm, "but if I step on your feet--no responsibility. I usually dance like they do in America."

"Tell me, darling: what is your most favoritest way to dance?"
Reply
"'Most favoritest'?" Colourful grammar aside, she knows the answer immediately, and knows she's going to say something else. After a moment's thought, she answers, "Foxtrot, maybe. What about you?"

"A beautiful woman can make any dance enjoyable."

The swooping sensation of falling back a moment, her fingertips just brushing the floor, before finding herself face to face with him once more, leaves her just a touch breathless. This is swiftly turning into the only dance she'll be up to for the evening; good thing it's proving to be memorable. "Flatterer." She's smiling, though. "But you're right--good company makes it."

"Would you like a cupcake, sweetness?"
Reply
"A cupcake? I don't know...maybe?" Let's be honest, she sort of does, for all she's playing coy about it. Even if they seem a bit childish for a party without five-year-olds running around.

For a moment, Kay frowns at it like she's never seen one before. "This seems like enough frosting for two or three cupcakes."
