28th Early Morning/Onward

[ It was strange waking up and finding yourself in the room you knew all too well. Not the normal decor for Luceti, not at all, but the castle. It even made the same eerie creaks and groans like it too. Sorry housemates you might be greeted with an ominous black figure looming over you or popping up out of nowhere while you're doing something entirely mundane. They're certainly not harmful, at least not supposed to be. The phantoms might try to get your attention in less than savory ways though. They like popping in when you're eating, showering, brushing your teeth in the mirror or even just reading. So CH 7 enjoy your phantomesque creatures for the next few days. Naturally they'll disappear and re-appear where ever the next piece of the castle shows up. Helios yelps in surprise when he sees one appear out of the floor boards in the hallway. ] You really need to stop doing that!

[ Yes he is talking to the black human-like mass silently drifting behind him. ] I-I don't understand how you...got here. [ They

Well, let 'em know that I'm taking this book whether they like it or not! My nerves are shot with the village going nuts like this! I need the break!

Oh I'll be sure to do so. I-I apologize for them acting this way. [ A soft hum as Helios rocks a little on the balls of his feet. He'll look around as he continues to rock stopping as he smiles back at Lina. ]

It's rather fascinating being about to see home again, isn't it?

[So much for a relaxing day at the library. It was cruel having such a beautiful library with so many new books to look at be guarded by phantoms. Ginia supposes she should have seen it coming, but it was sill cruel and unfair. At least they were benign enough, if not erring more on the side of slight terrifying and nothing you wanted to see hovering over your bed at night.

Ginia is wandering the streets when she sees her favorite derpy magic teacher out and coming toward her, she grins and waves at him, only to quickly drop and dodge away as a fireball rushes by where she was standing.]

Yay suffering...I mean nooo bad!

[ Helios is going to have to apologize for the phantoms attacking and hoarding books. Honestly he didn't know what got into them. They usually never attacked anyone including him! He'll run into Ginia just as that fireball goes hurtling over her head. ] G-Ginia! Are you all right?!

I am a mean and horrible person. (Also Alice is on page two.)

[Ginia picks herself up off the ground, feeling a bit twitchy at the sudden fireball toward the near face. She hadn't been that bad a student, right? But when she sees Helios at her side and another Helios further down...]

/Helios, do you have a twin?/

[Because that's also really hot. Pun unintended.]

[ That's not all there's going to be Ginia. You just wait. Helios on the other hand will be looking wide-eyed and possibly terrified at the other figure. This is not good, this is not good at all. Ginia could seriously get hurt from this. ] No, not at all. That's not a twin Ginia. That's me from another dimension. A very nasty and powerful me. We-we should go.

[ It's almost said pleadingly like Helios doesn't want to stay either. But Mirror!Helios won't stand for it so the air above them crackles and then bolts of lightning rain down on the two of them. Thankfully though Helios put a barrier. He'll be flinching with each strike made by the lightning. This? This is bad. ]

I apologize in advance for any trauma and molestation Alice may throw his way.

[A previous conversation with Giles about alternate versions of people comes to mind and Ginia groans inwardly. While briefly wondering if there's an alternate version of her running around and causing trouble. No. Bad thoughts.

Ginia jumps a little as lighting begins to rain down on them, crashing against the barrier. She instantly snaps her gun out of her holster and flicks off the safety. She knows a gun probably won't do much against magic, but it's something.]

/Getting out. Right. Can we run? Or teleport or something?

N-not while I have a barrier up. I-I don't think I can manage both. [ Oh gods this was so bad. Teleporting took too much time to prepare and Helios wasn't sure if he could balance his magic between both. Maybe without the power cap but not like this. Those lightning strikes aren't letting up either and Mirror!Helios is slowly walking closer. Helios will open a small hole in the barrier summoning rocky spikes to fling at his murderous double. He'll get some return fireballs in the process one making it past the barrier and sizzling past the two of them. ]

I-I could distract him so, so you can escape.

She might be nicer since she's not trying to draw any attention, but she's... well. She is.

[As the fireball rushes past them, Ginia realizes Helios could and likely can do all of this and more. An impressive thought, terrifying when his alternate world version is coming after you.]

/I'm not leaving you with him./ [It's not meaningless bravado, it's a little stubbornness, but it's mostly a lot of honesty. She's never been one for leaving people behind and even if Helios could hold off his mirror version, if he was injured in the process...]

/Is there a way we can take him down? Disable him? Keep him distracted while I get a few shots in? Unless you want to tell me now you're invulnerable to bullets./

[... What the hell is that? There's a giant stone structure where the library ought to be. A word hovers in Robert's head a moment as he stops to marvel at it with a mixture of confusion and interest, bringing his nanocomputer up almost reflexively to take a holophotograph. "Castle"...?

... Okay there is a giant black floating mass right behind Robert. He makes a little frightened noise, but beyond that doesn't do more than stare and back away.]

... Er... S-Salutations...?

[He knows they're holograms by now (possibly anyway) but it's still freaky knowing it was floating right there while he was trying to take pictures.

... Somebody want to help do a little ghostbusting? He's a scientist, he's not good at these paranormal things!]

Yay time to mess with Robert's head some more~

[ The phantom, female bodied and shaped as if it were wearing a dress, will creep closer hand outstretching in a motion akin to wanting to strangle the scientist. But it will stop and laugh. Twirling a finger through the black mass of what appeared to be hair. It'll dart under the floor and then appear right in front of the scientist. Head tilting back and forth as if it were curious.

Helios meanwhile will be in the stacks nearby, hearing that familiar voice he has to go investigate. Gods if the phantoms did anything to Robert he'd be furious, if not a bit ashamed. ] Robert? Is that you?

[ Robert might hear the familiar voice getting steadily closer. If anything it was at least only two stacks away. ]

Great! \o/

[As the hand outstretches, Robert leans back a little bit - just enough to pitch him off-balance. Can a simulation strangle you to death?

Then of course zie dives into the ground and disappears. Um, okay. Robert glances at the ground until - it is right in front of him oh god what how does that even work. He actually squeals then, a little note of fear, before pitching back again. Whirlwinding his arms, he manages to catch himself before he falls right on top of the simulation.

But the voice of his best friend that he just made up with awhile ago grabs his attention, even in the midst of panic.]

H-Helios...?!

There, e-er, appears to be a... translucent h-hominid sapient here...

Robert! Hold on! I'll, I'll be there in a second. [ It's probably jarring for the other to even be in the same vicinity as the phantoms. And they're acting ever so strange lately. Still he knows they can't exactly harm a person. But Helios makes his way to Robert rather fast anyway. Not wanting to leave the other alone with them for too long.

There's another phantom now in the shape of a man this time peering curiously at Robert's nanocomputer. It'll appear right beside Robert or a little in front of him. It might reach out to touch the unfamiliar apparatus in the scientist's arms. ]

[Robert holds his nanocomputer protectively closer. He isn't sure if the holograms of the phantoms can damage his nanocomputer in any way - so far, the others haven't seemed to, but then again they haven't tried to attack. And he doesn't want to take chances.

In the meantime he's just... going to hope Helios shows up before anything bad happens.]
