[Smiling anxiously, he gives the area around him another once-over.] I have mostly, er, been taking holophotographs and holovideo of this latest phenomenon. It is... most f-fascinating.

[She gives a gentle handshake and smiles reassuringly at him.]

I can imagine. Is that what the device you were using is? A camera of sorts?/

Ah, not quite... [He shows the little device to Ginia, tilting it so that she can see the holoprojected data - including the last photograph he was taking.] It is called a n-nanocomputer. Essentially, it is a... qu-quantum computer; this particular model is s-standardized for usage of scientists from the Institutes of Terra, and so its ability to... t-take holovideo or holophotography is, er, s-substandard... but it works well enough for my p-purposes.

[He then closes and slides the nanocomputer into a clear case for now, carrying it in his hands.]

... I enjoy collecting d-data about the experiments that occur here o-occasionally, in order to search for patterns and develop a... hypothesis. [Even his AU self had done it, though Mulder was more notable for it.]

[Ginia moves close to look at the device, quite impressed by it. Amazing what centuries can do for technology. The fact he called it substandard amuses her, making her wonder what something with more advanced technology would be capable of.]

The former. Though... it is theorized that s-some life could exist in stars... [Life that uses nuclear forces instead of electromagnetics. It'd be... unorthodox, even for Robert, but he does find the idea compelling.]

But yes. P-Primarily... simply organisms from outside of T-Terra and the other planets in the Sol star system...

It is possible, yes. Relatively... i-impractical, due to the energy and time required... unless one uses the transporters, but those are even m-more energy-intensive and... a-are usually limited to very specific, goal-oriented t-trips.

[No random journeys across space for the hell of it for Terrans. If they need to do that, they send automated probes.]

And there must be trillions of extrasolar organisms... Terran s-scientists have only barely scratched the surface. [Robert's voice is actually filled with a childlike wonder at this.]

Even Luceti has... many life-forms I have never heard of... and some are sapients.

[Really, any world is better than her own, but for someone driven by knowledge, what she's seen and learned of Robert's world sounds truly amazing. Though she doesn't doubt there it bears it's own bad spots.]
