[Alice has an observer.

Robert doesn't usually stay outside at this time, but the constant shifts of architecture have made sleeping difficult - when your bedroom isn't a bedroom half the time, it's hard to find actual time to sleep. So he's been driven outside, to study the way the simulations play havoc with the night cycle of Luceti (which he had largely suspected was simulated anyway).

And then he ends up in a city - an old city, pre-Terran judging by its construction. Certainly not unusual by Luceti standards, though. He almost doesn't notice anything awry until sudden movement draws his gaze - just long enough for him to watch Alice eviscerate the thug.

It's the horrible preciseness of the strike, the same way that Daisy gunned down the Covenant, that makes him stare openmouthed with horror. Not so much that this person he met barely a few days ago can kill, as that she can kill so methodically, where it's so easy and quick and precisely-engineered to destroy

[Robert nods, timidly, recognition in his eyes. This is something he understands. No magic or anything involved.]

... It is... a p-pleasure to meet... both of you then.

What is your name, then...? [Alice's, not Ginia's.]

/Alice. After the crazy girl who fell down the rabbit hole./ [Alice offers a crooked smile at that. It was a name that'd been given to her by accident, but she found it fitting enough to take it. And with friends nicknamed "Cheshire" and "Hatter", it seemed a logical name.]

[... It certainly seems fitting to Robert. As much as he doesn't like to judge on first impressions, that style of killing had been... well. Creepy, to put it lightly.]

/I hadn't, though I assume you've already met the little cupcake, professor./ [Alice signs, dropping all remaining signs of the facade as she crosses her arms across her chest after signing and stares him down with an expression mixed with amusement, arrogant pride, and predatory feralness.]

I have spoken t-to her, yes... [Robert nods, trying to meet Alice's gaze and failing spectacularly. She's just plain intimidating to him, in a way that Ginia thoroughly isn't, and while he can't quite read that expression, it is something he isn't certain he wants directed at him.

It might be blatantly obvious he can't read her cues.]

I, er, hope this is... n-not an issue...?

/No. Course not. She's the boss anyway. I'll just have to leave a little note letting her know I ran into you./

[Her gaze intensifies a little as she stares him down.]

It is not a p-problem for me... I, er, m-merely asked in the event that you... might not wish for it to be disclosed or something of the s-sort. [Because Robert generally needs to be told point-blank if it's okay or not to share things, since otherwise he generally assumes it is.

[Though even with that, Alice has no idea how Ginia plans on keeping things a secret. It'd be so much easier if Ginia embraced certain aspects and tried hiding them, but it's somewhat understandable. Who wants to be known as the mentally unstable hunter in a small town?]

[Robert doesn't know what to think. On Terra, this would hardly be considered grounds for insanity, though it is certainly not the usual state of affairs for somebody like a human. Still...]

... I will keep this c-confidential, then. [It's unlikely that it should ever be an actual issue anytime soon.] I am thankful to Ginia's protection of me e-earlier in this debacle - I would not wish to cause her, or y-yourself, issues.

[Alice watches him a little longer before giving a small nod of approval.]

/Thank you. I'll be leaving a note for her so she'll be aware of this little... conversation. Is there anything you want me to pass on to her?/

Perhaps an... a-apology for encountering you and her at an... uncomfortable time...? [Not that Robert knows whether this is something Ginia is uncomfortable about or not, but he figures that she would've been more blunt about it otherwise if it was.]

... At e-either rate, I... would not wish to, er, p-prevent you from... from whatever it is you are doing to the s-simulations... [Murdering them, obviously, but Robert is obviously uncomfortable.]

[There's a crooked grin as Alice gives a dismissive wave of her hand.]

/That's just training. No one around right now. You need help getting out of here? Davenport is pretty grid-like, but you might run into trouble. Always trouble here./

Davenport...? Is that the name of this place, then? [Robert glances around curiously, trying to see if he remembers this city being named somewhere.] Where is it... l-located, on your T - ... er, Earth?

Massachusetts... [The word comes off as foreign and strange to Robert, and... yeah, a population of 140 000 is so pathetically small to him that he has to stop to wrap his head around it for a second.]

... F-Forgive me. I am relatively unfamiliar with... p-pre-Terran geography and political boundaries... I have been trying to learn, but m-much of it is still... a work in progress.
