There's a lot of hustle and bustle at this casual party, more people moving around house 7 than Raine would have expected. A very nice gathering, even though part of her can't help but feel somewhat out of place. She will give a small smile and conversation to anyone who approaches, though she may end up doing a lot of observing, unless the hostess is in need of any assistance.

Still, there's a lot to complement on, and she even - unasked, most likely - brought along an assortment of cookies for the occasion. Are they edible? With certain guidance she did keep to a sane matter of recipes at least -- at the most, she only got creative with the cookie cutters, involving various geometric shapes and sizes. They're quite harmless and hopefully somewhat tasty otherwise -- some are ordinary chocolate chip, sugar, and of course the majority being lemon. A carefully planned assortment.

"Yes, we came together. It's a change of pace from our quiet dinners." She shakes her head a little at his commentary.

"Does he speak at all at your quiet dinners?" This is simple curiosity, now.

[wise_maiden]

"Hm? I didn't mean quiet that literally. We do tend to have conversations then."

[lists_to_port]

"That's rather a relief. He seems like the stiff, silent type. I mean that in the best way possible of course, mistress."

[wise_maiden]

"I suppose I'm not quite certain of the way you do mean it. He's just very private, that's all. When he has interest in something, he'll make it known."

[lists_to_port]

"Maps. Charts. Strategies. Weaponry."

[wise_maiden]

"Teas, wine, gardening."

[lists_to_port]

"Gardening? He gardens?"

[wise_maiden]

"You've seen the house on good weather days, Jack. Most of the flowers outside of it are under his care."

"Those high-toned flowers are under HIS care?" Jack had once stolen a fern from that garden. He'd always assumed they were Raine's plants. "Wondrous! And wine, does he make that as well?"

[wise_maiden]

She can't help but smile a bit more at his surprise; there's some sense of fondness and warmth in her tone. "He doesn't make the wine; just has an appreciation for it. But yes, he's been cultivating those flowers for years now."

[lists_to_port]

"I see." Jack took a sip of rum. "I never knew Albert had quite so many...angles. Does he ever present you with a beautiful bouquet?"

[wise_maiden]

"Well, it is hardly as if you two know each other that well." Probably mostly of each other, and not very much at that, from her perspective. "And no, he hasn't."

[lists_to_port]

"Pity. Whyever not?" And Jack Sparrow decided he would have to mention that to Albert at some point.

[wise_maiden]

A slight shrug. "His flowers are for growing, not for gathering."

It was the only answer she really had to that.
