So, I've been having a particular theme recurring my dreams the past few weeks. A smaller portion of the overall dream, but annoyingly present. That theme is, roughly, botfly larva. Though rather than the fat looking grubs seen there, these are longer and more worm-like. I try to squeeze them out, and then grab and pull. I can feel them wriggling

Sounds sort of representative of carrying weight on your shoulders and feeling that those events or people that seem to weigh on your are parasitic. Would mesh well into what you've been pawing at for a while now in regards to your situation. (My vague opinion. Almost as good as a horoscope!)
