Today the Supreme Court with a 5-4 ruling took the first step in removing the 4th amendment. You know the one that protects against unreasonable search and seizure, yeah it's hurting right now. *expletive deleted*!
I'd call both endangered but not extinct. It is discouraging when the SC splits along ideological lines like this and makes a 'bad' decision, but given how hard and how many people are fighting through the courts for these rights, I wouldn't call them dead.
Being a part of the "secure" world (if you don't know what I mean, you don't know me enough) I signed most of my rights away years back. I hoped that the rest of the country would still have 4th and 5th amendment coverage, though.
So... time to revert back to a feudal state? Or just change country of citizenship?
