Still no power. I'm at a computer lab on campus, which is less air-conditioned than I'd normally wish, but at least it's better than the 90 degree oppressive heat of the apartment

the silence would drive me nuts. i'd sit in my car the whole time and listen to the radio with the air conditioner running. sure... i'd run out of gas eventually, but it's better than going insane, right?

i know you're thinking, but what about arthur? i'd bring the cat with me. no way i'd leave it alone in the house.

Yes, but I only have a quarter tank of gas left! And I haven't gotten my paycheck, so I can't afford very much, these days.
