There are some benches by the sidewalk outside our building, and a lot of people sit on them to stay up talking and smoking on most nights of the week. I've never heard them too late, (we are on the second floor) but apparently it's too much for some of our other friendly building-mates, because somebody keeps covering the benches with ketchup so ( Read more... )

Today on the subway I saw this lady putting on fairly elaborate makeup, and then she just started rubbing her neck with a quarter. I think she was trying to make it look like she had a hickey. It sort of worked.

The tea is too hot, and the toast is cold, comrades.

Moony is my new little grey parakeet! I haven't taken any pictures of her yet, but Snowy (the parakeet I've had since junior year) is being very maternal. This is a complete surprise and change of pace.

Today at lunch Chap told me this story about his family's pet pig (Francine?) and how she needs her hooves clipped. They called in the only vet available, who happened to be a horses'n'cows vet or something not quite pig-related, and this vet came by and decided to give it a go.
