Happy Birthday! :DphoenixreduxJuly 9 2010, 17:33:58 UTC
Excellent! There is nothing more enriching for the spirit than a good old fashioned American road trip. This is such a staggeringly beautiful country. Sometimes we forget that when we read all the ugly headlines in the news. But it has magick of its own, too. I think I've been on that road between Nebraska and Colorado. One of my favorite places (that you would love, too) is between Idaho, a little corner of southeast Washington and northeast Oregon. There's a dirt road that goes up through Joseph Canyon. And I mean Up. It hugs the wall of the canyon. I don't remember seeing a single guard rail. So if you spin off one of the hairpin gravel turns, you'll fall x-thousand feet to your certain doom. And it's so much fun to drive in a twin-turbo '87 Mazda Rx7, you wouldn't even believe it.
You're really making me want to load up the car, you know. :)
Man, that sounds like an epic adventure. Makes me feel oh-so-ashamed of my morning spend divided between watching old episodes of Burn Notice and halfheartedly working on Things that Need Doing.
I'm sorry AX didn't work out for you, but it sounds like you were able to have a good time anyways.
