I concur with most of "that my way of abandoning interest when I find that I can't get my fix there is only indicative of how little progress I've really made since September/October/whenever this all began." That is very addict controlled behavior. However, you REALIZED it. Which is a much bigger step then you may think. So I disagree with "how little progress" part
