I wonder if O'Reilly has ever considered branching out into the fertilizer business. What BS. The guy can't possibly have no real knowledge about the areas he said he didn't and be in the position he's in. One thing was true, though, we need to sensibly drill for our own off shore oil.

O'Reilly couldn't answer a question if you told him exactly what to say. "Oh that is a good question, no shit Sherlock. You and all the Big Oil companies have a huge plus on your side and have had it for more than 7 years, President George Bush. It is unbelievable that these companies, these greedy executives and leaders of power can not see what they are doing to this country. IDIOTS I tell you, idiots.

No one is to blame, because EVERYONE is to blame. Rather than figure out who's responsible, we need to start working on a swift and immediate solution. The cost of fuel is causing people to spend less, and a pathetic $600 stimulus is not going to make up the difference. I live in California, and people are moving out of state, businesses are closing, homes are going into foreclosure- all because the population cannot counter-act the selfish greed of our Government, and the top Oil Companies. I for one am preparing to leave the state, as the cost of fuel has made it impossible for me to stay here. I need to lower my rent and utilities in order to still afford groceries after I fuel up for 1 week. Given the largest profit posting in a few decades, I think the oil companies can afford to cap the cost per gallon until a better solution is created. If the oil companies will not do it willingly, then the Government needs to put a stop to this, and now.

Energy consumption is a huge part of this, you're absolutely right. And big, expensive cars that take premium gas to fill are just a status symbol. We are very wasteful of a nation but people refuse to notice and change it because of the poor appeal of public transportation and the reality TV shows about riches. Everyone wants to live richly and lavishly and they imitate it the best way they know how.
Capping until another solution comes up is far from a modest proposal. Who knows when another solution will come around? The best thing we can do by far is to personally lower our fuel consumption and strive to make others do it as well.

There are Hundreds of wells capped from the Carter Oil Boom. These capped wells have never been open to production. These wells are all over the country. There could be thousands of them! Gull Island is a mega rich oil field, A whole lot of hidden information on that oil field, Mega barrels there! We have been scammed and its nothing but lies and cover ups! The bloody greed surpasses common sense. Not one refinery built in thirty years, and he says their investing, that is pure horse sheit! There were hundreds of deep hole rigs working in 1979, 1980 I was a rig electrician building deep hole rigs, the rigs were of high demand till carter cut off the leases! The price greedy big boys are where the problem is! The hedge funding and speculators are the top end and driving the price with lies! Just how big of a salary does the scum bag get per year? I bet his pension plan is staggering! It takes a eight dollar a hour labor and 1/4 goes in the gas tank,, now that's real bull sheit

That's correct, but unfortunately, many people don't realize that. When the gas prices dipped in the 90's, the Oil companies capped domestic wells all over America, because it wasn't profitable for them to keep pumping. Once that well is capped, it will not produce like it did before, even if it is uncapped again. Oil companies do not want more refineries, nor do they want cheap gasoline.
Why didn't Blitzer ask . . .

what Chevron has been doing with the battery technology they bought the patent on after both Big Oil and the Automobile Industry killed the electric car??? Those batteries are just starting to reappear now. These hybrids are a joke and are part of their 'weaning' strategy. Too late. I do blame Big Oil for suppressing the technology!!!
