I wonder if any one has thought about becoming a contracted spelling and grammar checker in Japan. Checking the spelling of signs, menus and the like. I can imagine that there is quite a market for it.

If my spelling and grammar was better than a kindergartener then I would think about it.

I've thought about it. Seems like it could be very lucrative; I imagine though, that it's a matter of somehow getting known as the person to go to for that service.

I'm applying to JET this year. Any suggestions about the statement of purpose or interview tips? (I'm thinking positive, here. I may not get that far)

Also, I want to be able to ride year round (meaning no snow). Even Tokyo weather is fine. But I'd prefer something not too hot and I'm asking to be put in a rural area or small town (so I have to learn Japanese). Any suggestions?

to be honest, I think that you should just be yourself. Also, don't worry about impressing them with all you know about japan. They are looking for people who want to learn from their experience as well as teach. It is good to tell them that you have been before and liked it so much that you'd like to go back and see more of the country.

As for placements, I would suggest asking for kyuushuu, or at least as east on honshuu as you can get. But if you limit yourself to places that you want to go then you are limiting your chances of getting on.

There is also shikoku, I did a road trip there in my second year and the scenery is amazing and it is hellah rural.

Tell them that you love riding and would like to explore Japan in your free time. That would definitely be a plus. good luck with the app, if you have any more questions, feel free to write me :)

Dood, I think about that all the time. Seriously. Like, for 2 years now.
