I had a dream that my family and I went to go see an indie movie at the art theatre. It was a film with a name that kept changing--October's Sky, Come Again, Coin--and it was a packed house. You know, when I first read this, I thought the author was a man. Rereading it after seeing that the author was a woman is interesting, especially when I think about how this sort of love and commitment would never go unquestioned by those monsters who claim to defend "traditional" marriage by the sole virtue of being a heterosexual relationship. I had this dream that I entered this large white warehouse store in a strip mall. It was bright, but a bit stark, but staffed wit some people wit a few customers walking around the bare aisles. I had a dream that I decided to stave off my loneliness and get a dog. I just walked to an adoption center and picked one up and we were on our way, leash and all. The whole time, I kept worrying about paying the pet fee at my apartment complex and whether I had the time to train him and how I still hadn't purchased the basics...like dog food.
