CHAPTER 3 PART 2

He was astoundingly vain, distressingly heedless, and effortlessly gave into any, absolutely any, sort of pleasure, Takeru knew that; he knew himself very well. He wasn't ashamed of it either, and never had any desire of altering any of those commonly non-admirable qualities, in fact, if it were for him, he wouldn't have had any troubles allowing his true self flourish unrestrained in their unscrupulously judging society, he didn't care in the least, and had his reason for it to be so. However, the other did care, for that particular person, it was an essential matter to maintain an ever so respectable image of their family, and Takeru had never mind complying. For any desire the other had, he would have maybe played dumb for sometime, knowing that in the the end he would end up doing whatever he had been asked, he would end up wanting to do it; if it were for Yasuno, he would have done anything.

For he earnestly loved the elder, and it wasn't solely due to the pleasure the elder would bestow on him during their sacrilegious lustful nights, neither because he would always allow the younger to have his way with anything. No, it was far simpler a reason than all of that; Yasuno never had, and never did, expect a single thing from him, ever. He had accepted him, never once pitied him for being born, to the elder, it hadn't been an utter disappointment that the younger hadn't turn out to be their salvation, he accepted the fact that the younger was just another life waiting to take its willing course, like any other.

The elder was the only reason he had accepted and learned not to loath his own birthday, the only reason why he was now cheerfully pretending to be at sleep at 5 o'clock in the morning, waiting for Yasuno to come in approximately fourteen minutes. Because, as every year, the elder would have come to him, he would have come to remind him of how seventeen years ago, at exactly 5:14 AM, another life had innocently and unknowingly made its way into this inferno, and how it would have been just fine if he weren't to salvage all the damned souls of its inhabitants; it would have been just fine.

He glanced at his pocket-watch under his covers, and as he noticed the awaited arrival to be five minutes away, his heart began to pace faster, but it wasn't in excitement; this time, it was pure fear. It was the first time the elder had ever brought home a supposed fiance, and he feared that maybe, to keep up the facade, he would have decided it wiser not to come.

Tick, tock, ... he could feel his heart in his throat.

Tick, tock, ... a fearful soul, a restless mind, a nervous sigh.

5:14. A door opening, eyes swiftly closing, a relieved soul.

He had purposely laid himself backing the door, on the right side of the bed, with his bedsheets appositely resting from his waist down, in such way, he left space for the other to lay behind him, if he had wanted to, which he did. Ever so slowly and gently the elder blonde lay on his side facing the back of the younger, keeping their bodies a few inches apart. Yasuno smiled to himself glad he hadn't woke up the believed still resting soul, as he kindly wrapped his arm around Takeru's waist, and leaned his head forward, hovering over the younger one's ear.

-Takeru? … - he whispered, softly caressing the younger blonde's cheek with the hand he had previously around his waist, but received no response. Replacing his arm around the younger one's waist he slowly brought the body to touch his, and gently kissed his cheek.

-Ta-ke-ru? … - he then chanted in a slightly higher tone, receiving a faint smile from the other, who still kept his stance, with his eyes tightly closed. Yasuno smirked in amusement, and keeping his slow paced motions, he began randomly kissing Takeru's face, who finally giggled away his pretense sleep, as he opened his eyes, and turned around to face the elder.

-Happy birth day Takeru - professed the elder, as they brought they lips together in a slow affectionate kiss, while the younger wrapped his arms around the elder.

-Your heart feels like it is about to explode ...- whispered the elder on the younger lips.

-… because ... I thought you were not going to come - confessed the younger, fixing his eyes on the man's shirt, as he played with its white collar.

-How so? - curiously asked Yasuno, as he tightened the grip around his waist.

-Because your oh so precious jewel is here so I thought that … - explained the younger in a whisper, still maintaining his gaze on the white shirt.

-Silly … - grinned Yasuno, as he leaned forward capturing Takeru's lips in quick tender kiss - I have something for you - he then stated, quickly getting up, and off the bed, as Takeru swiftly sat up his bed.

-What is it? - eagerly asked the younger, with his heart excitedly pounding in expectation, as he observed the elder walking over to his dresser, and placing a black box on it, turning around to face the younger, and making sign for him to come over. Takeru looked at Yasuno, pouting, as he extended his arms towards the elder, who simply gave him a skeptical look.

-I am not carrying Takeru … - he then simply stated with a grin

-Please~! - whined the younger, keeping his arms out, as he restlessly jumped on the bed. The elder sighed in defeat, and walked over to the complaining celebrant, and as the younger placed his arms around his neck, he carried him bride-style towards the dresser.

-Thank you- replied the younger as he was placed down on his feet, and swiftly extended a hand to reach for the black velvet box, which was lightly smacked by the elder.

-What was that for? - whimpered the younger in bewilderment.

-Allow me - calmly stated the elder, as he slowly opened the box, revealing a heart-shaped ruby, which had two golden letters engraved in it; T and Y. Yasuno picked up the jewel, which was hanging on a golden chain, he then walked behind Takeru, and placed the necklace around his neck.

-With this … - began the elder, placing his chin on younger blonde's shoulder, as he wrapped his arms around his waist - … I give my heart to you - he then concluded lightly pecking the younger on his neck, who was still overjoyed smiling and intently looking at their reflection in the dresser's mirror, as he held his present.

-I love it ... - breathed out the younger. He really did. It looked expensive, which was exactly his style, but he mentally and reluctantly sighed in his head, as he sadly realized that he couldn't help but feel something missing.

-I am glad - replied Yasuno, as he slowly parted from the younger, quickly glancing at the pocket-watch - you better hurry up if you want to get to church before us … - he then stated observing Takeru's rolling eyes in the mirror - you don't want to make a scene on your birth day, right? Mother is going to join- he tried to explain but was interrupted by the younger

-Understood, I am going now - dryly spat Takeru as he directed himself to his wardrobe

-Takeru … - sighed the elder walking to his brother - this sad expression is totally unappropriated on this handsome face - he whispered holding Takeru's chin between his thumb and index.

-It's ok, it is not your fault … - replied the younger with a slight grin, as he turned back to face his opened wardrobe

-… It's not your one either - whispered the elder, leaning on the inside of the opened wardrobe, as he observed the younger blonde's apathetic face.

-It better if you get back - suddenly stated Takeru, as he browsed through some jacket - you wouldn't want Lady he has two restaurants in Manchester and one up my ass notice that you are gone - sarcastically explained the younger, picking out a long white summer coat, as the elder released a shocked laughter.

-You and this little dirty mouth of yours - he replied with a smirk, leaning off the wardrobe and quickly placing his lips on the one's of the distracted blonde - but you are right, I should leave - he then concluded, walking towards the entrance, the younger still facing his wardrobe.

When he reached the door handle, he paused for a second and turned around.

-Takeru … - he softly called

-Yes? ... - I love you, I love you, I love you ... please say that you love me

-... Happy birth day again - stated the elder

-Thanks … - happily replied Takeru in a shaky voice, keeping his face on his wardrobe, as he hard the door closing behind him.

Takeru resignedly sighed, as he tightly held the jewel around his neck, wondering why had it suddenly become so important for him to hear those three conveniently heavy words. He couldn't fully understand it himself, but as he loosen the grip around his new acquired heart he had the feeling, it might have been the one way to perhaps loosen the painful grip around his old still beating one.

Once finished dressing, he cautiously hid the expensive present inside his shirt, quickly grabbed a folded paper that he had left by his bed stand and exited his room, in direction of the chapel in their estate. As he exited the main glass door of the living room into the gardens, he spotted two familiar bodies walking in front of him in the same direction.

-Ruki~! Shou~!- he happily shouted, as he skipped towards them.

-Too early, too loud … - drily replied Ruki, pushing his glasses up with his black gloved hand.

-Good morning you two~ - chanted Takeru, skipping in front, and stopping to face them with a hand behind his ear, as if awaiting to hear something from the two young men.

-Ha-happy … birthday - whispered Shou keeping his head low, as he slowly extended a closed fist towards the youngest, which he slowly opened to reveal a candy.

-You remembered … - lowly exclaimed Takeru sincerely surprised - thank you Shou - he then smiled, carefully picking up the candy from his hand, making sure not to touch the elder's palm. He then looked towards Ruki, and raised his eyebrow questioningly.

-Did you tell him about my birthday? - he then asked

-No, I didn't, I am as surprised as you are … - calmly replied the eye-glassed blonde, looking back at Shou, as the younger simply nodded in acknowledgment -also you will notice that somebody took care of his injured hand, in a way it is impossible to avoid skin contact … - Ruki observed, as Takeru swiftly looked at the elder's slightly wrapped up hand, and almost as fast, looked up at Shou, who was still hanging his head low, looking as lost as ever -I have no explanation for that either - replied Ruki with a sigh as he resumed his walk followed by the other two.

-So ... you are not going to s- Takeru attempted to question, as he looked at the eye-glassed blonde

-Happy birthday- drily interrupted the elder, maintaining his gaze forward, as they proceeded walking

-Well thank you, I appreciate the effort, it must have been hard, I could feel it - sarcastically replied Takeru as he extended his hand towards the elder.

-What? - question Ruki quickly glancing at the offered hand

-Well my present of course, what else? - calmly replied the youngest

-I am showing up at your birth day ball - replied the elder with a sigh - that's my present for you - he concluded, swiftly glancing at the younger with a smirk.

-Whatever … - nonchalantly replied Takeru - speaking of more important things, what was that with Mr. Uke yesterday? … it's unusual for you to be so …- he then paused, as pretended to search for the right word, looking towards the sky - attached? Attracted? … - he then mockingly proposed looking at the elder, who simply kept his gaze forward.

-Are you trying to ruin my game … Takanori? - he then inquired, with an amused challenging tone, glancing at the elder, who kept his quiet, as they proceeded in their walk.

-I just need his brains - he then suddenly replied

-Huh! - replied Takeru in feign stupor - Akira said we shouldn't kill anybody, how could you … poor Mr. Uke … - concluded the younger, maintaining his pretense tone.

-His knowledge Takeru, I just need his knowledge, that's all - quickly replied the elder with a slightly irritated tone - for the rest his all yours - he coldly concluded, pushing up his glasses once more.

-I see … if that is the case - replied the youngest, with a satisfied smirk - well, I have a lot to do in that holy place, so I will skip before you guys. See you there~ - he warned as he resumed his skip towards the chapel. Once he was far enough, he resumed a normal walk, as he firmly stared at the chapel in front of him.

Despite Takeru's incredibly shallow demeanor, what people didn't realize, was that the young blond was in fact too bright for his one good. He was perfectly aware of the fact himself, and never hesitated to use his intelligence in the must disconcerting ways. He liked to tamper with people's believes, subtly driving them to limit of their comprehension, and finally heartlessly crushing their hopes, especially when it came to religion; he had no faith in the servant's of God, who had so diligently and faithfully turned him into the unwanted child he was.

But not just any unwanted child, because he wasn't the result of a one night extravaganza, no, Takeru wasn't a mistake. On the contrary, everything had been planned to the minutest detail, the conception place, the carrying out of the pregnancy, the birth, everything under the commanding and attentive control of the servants of the holy house of Christ. The church had made their consecrated predictions, with which they had convinced the desperate couple that if they would have offered a certain sum to the high heavens, they would have finally witnessed the arrival of they female progeny, because of course, according to the laws of nature, as the bishop so often was opt to preach, you cannot receive without giving in exchange.

And the couple did, they gave more than had been requested from them, which according to the honorable head of the church, it would have certainly granted them a place in paradise. It was a fifty-fifty chance, it could have gone either way, and it did, but not the way they wanted. And the church raised they sacred finger towards the couple, accusing the woman of being the cause of their evil, and insinuating that the only way of saving her soul was of course to pay another sum, which of course, they unquestioningly did. However, the shock never left the heart and mind of the woman, who repudiated the child, as she did with the previous two, convincing herself that she had never conceived more than four children; three boys and a girl.

As the younger blonde pushed the door of the chapel open, he steadily walked towards the kneeling figure of a priest, whom after slowly raising up and doing the sign of the cross, turned around to face a distrustful grinning Takeru.

-Good morning, and happy birthday ... Takeru - kindly greeted the priest, as he earnestly smiled at the younger

-Good morning and thank you … father Byou - replied the younger with a smile, keeping his skeptical look on the priest, who guided their way to the familiar confessional.

When they both sat in their respective places, with the wooden barrier between them, the priest calmly began his routine.

-So, what troubles your soul my child? -

-Well father Byou, as you must have noticed -began the younger with a sarcastically cheerful tone - I have been away for two weeks now, and I think I over sinned - he paused, bringing out the folded paper he had previously placed in his pocket -but do not fret! I wrote them all down. So here it goes - announced the younger in mock excitement, as he cleared his throat.

-Takeru? … - kindly called the priest trying to prevent the younger from putting on one of his usual shows, but he was blatantly ignored as the younger commenced his list.

-So I had sex, or - paused the younger in feign concern as he placed his hand in front of his mouth and began whispering - is it better to say that I slept, with four different people, whom by the way, where all men … huh ... that must certainly be a double Ave Maria for each man, isn't it? - he sighed in pretense exasperation, and resumed - I stole two bracelets from two of the men I slept with, they looked so pretty on me, it would have been a sin to just leave them there … - nonchalantly explained the younger with a smirk - then lets see … - whispered the younger as he scanned the list

-Takeru? … - interrupted the priest once more, trying to get the younger to stop his farce, but was again ignored by the younger, who resumed

-Hmm, I already know what to do for this ones … Oh! I slept with my brother, again, I know, which is a real no no, right? But then again I really really really love him, so maybe it could be half penalty, what do you say? - paused the younger seeking for an agreement with the priest, who simply kept his silence - and, almost forgot, you see I didn't write it down - declared the younger as he eagerly showed the list to the mortified priest - I called my mother a whore! -concluded the younger with the most fake smile he could muster.

-What do you expect me to tell you Takeru? - kindly asked the priest, as he released a sorrowful sigh

-Well, since you ask … - whispered Takeru, as he got closer to the speaking hole - I was wondering whether there was some sort of super Ave Maria, or an eternally redeeming Lord's Prayer, for it would make our encounters quicker don't you think? - observed the younger - I am sure you'll find them, if you look in that book, the one that has Bible written on it- explained the younger as he got even closer to the speaking hole, and whispered even lower - it has all the answers you know, but shhh … - he then chanted with his index in front of his mouth - we don't want to let the others who haven't yet noticed that we are cheating- he concluded with a wink.

-Takeru … why do you come to church? - suddenly asked the priest, who was trying his best, as always, to bring some piece in the younger one's troubled mind and soul.

-Well, if I don't confess, I cannot go to paradise right? - he stated as a matter of fact - and I know for a fact that Yasuno, and all the others at that, will want to go there, thus I don't want to be all sad and lonely in Hell … - resignedly sighed the younger

-So you wouldn't mind to go to Hell? - curiously asked the priest, who was truly almost scared to do so

-You must be kidding me, father Byou - excitedly replied the younger, placing a mockingly offend hand on his chest - just thinking of how hot and bothered that place must be, I … nnh … - moaned the younger, gaining a warning cough from the priest - I could die all over again! - he concluded with a silly giggle -Is there a hell after hell? -he then suddenly asked in utter feign curiosity, as the elder simply sighed, leaning his head on the wall behind him.

-You remind me of myself, when I was your age Takeru ... - suddenly began speaking the priest from his leaning post

-Uh?! - exclaimed the younger in mock stupor

-I might have even been worse, to tell you the truth ... - calmly continued the priest

-My, my … - replied the younger in feign disappointment.

-I despised this place, and everything that it meant … - sighed the elder

-If this is one of those recruitment speeches, you are clearly talking to the wrong person. I don't carry guns or crosses, I am sorry … - apologetically smiled the younger

-Because I couldn't see, I never realized the difference between them… - continued the elder, his voice almost becoming a concerned whisper

- … still talking to me? … - curiously asked the younger

-And most of the priests, with our religious institutions, and so called high powers, still can't see it either, so I don't blame you - concluded the elder, getting off the wall, and startling the younger, as he reappeared through the multi-punctured separating barrier.

-It's time for you three's mass, lets go before it gets too late - proposed the priest as he exited the confessional followed by the younger.

As Takeru walked to the benches, he found Takanori and Kazamasa already seating, the later absently staring in front of him, while the eye-glassed blonde was looking rather irritated, most likely for the extended wait. The youngest sat next to Shou, as the priest took his place at the podium, and he began his service.

-In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti - commenced the priest, as they all stood up but Takeru, who to any outsider, would have looked like he was must likely acting up, but he wasn't. He was thinking through the last sentences the priest had breathed out, trying to give them a meaning, but concluding that he did not want to give any religious matter the honor of his precious time, he simply followed the mass, and swiftly stood up.

-Amen -
