Chapter 6 part 1

Hiroto had ought to be completely worn-out, after three hours of incessant playing, but he kept on passionately strumming on his guitar, and if it weren't for his continues spurring to keep going, he knew his band mates would have probably left an hour ago. He was conscious of the fact that they had overexerted themselves because of him, but he couldn't stop, he couldn't leave ... just not yet.

Thus, he went on with his insane strumming like there were going to be no tomorrow, hoping his band mates would let themselves be carried away by his apparently fervent will, and keep playing for a little more, just a little more, because he really didn't want to leave … just not yet. However, by the look on their faces it was clear that their first official practice was about to come to an end, and Hiroto didn't like that ... not one bit.

-Ijou~!- desperately screamed Nao as he repeatedly hit his hi hat with fast, yet light, bangs of both of his sticks, officially announcing the end of their practice. The drummer was now slacking on his thrown, his arms hanging loose on both sides of his body still holding his sticks, as he impassively stared at his snare. Saga was holding himself up with his head leaning on Tora's shoulder, whose head was as well leaning back on top of the bassist's. The only person, who was clearly physically tired but whose expression told a different story, was Shou, who had an overjoyed smile, and his eyes were radiantly staring some random point in the room's ceiling, as he let himself hang on the microphone stand.

-I-ijou? - attempted to ask Hiroto, looking at their band leader, as if to make sure he had heard correctly

-Yeees Pon ... I am dying here … - hissed the blonde drummer, whose head was now laying flat on the snare

-I don't know where you got all that energy from, given that we all just had a smoothie during our brake, but … it's over … for today - concluded Nao, as he slightly pulled his head up, to display a reassuring smile towards their youngest band member.

-Well, what else do you expect from our little furry ball of energy - said Shou as he roughly scattered Hiroto's hair, soon after joined in the action by Tora and Saga.

-Uh? His not kicking us away? … - surprisingly observed Tora.

-Hey Hiroto … are you ok? - concluded the elder guitarist, who was now starring at their younger one's nearly shocked expression. The usual Hiroto would have normally fought off those playful hands in no time, sometimes not even given them the opportunity to get to his head, but at the moment he probably hadn't even noticed; nervousness had taken the best of him.

-Pon? … - worriedly inquired Shou looking at his best friend, as they all slowly retracted their hands from his hair, keeping their gaze on him.

Shou is going to wait for Ruki after practice, so I thought, if you don't mind, that you could wait for me too, and then we could go and pick your stuff together. Just call me back and let me know... love you Reita.

When they had left to go for their break, Hiroto had forgot his cell phone in the studio, and as he came back he found Reita's voice mail, which he had of course immediately replied too. Not wanting to disturb the bassist, because he didn't know whether at the moment, he was practicing or not, he just sent a quick text, saying that it was okay with him, which in this precise instant, he could feel in his agitated bones, that it was way far from the truth.

-O~i! Ruki-sama calls chihuahua! If you can hear me bark! - said Shou, this time with a stronger tone, which successfully broke the younger form his trance

-Oi! Don't call me that! - quickly retorted the guitarist, glaring at the their vocalist, who was laughing with the rest of their band mates

-You got us a little worried there - quickly added Saga, at which Hiroto simply smirked

-But really, everything okay? … - kindly asked Shou, assuming a more serious expression

-Yeah, yeah, of course! - replied Hiroto as he walked to go and place his guitar in its case.

-Well then … - said Tora as he wrapped his arm around Saga's waist - we are leaving, see you guys tomorrow! - and dragged himself, his guitar, and his bassist, out off the studio's entrance.

-Wait for me, I need a ride! - shouted Nao waiving at the other two, as he quickly ran out the studio to join those who had left. Hiroto and Shou were now standing, looking around the empty studio, each one of them waiting for the other to state their next destination.

-I am going to wait for Ruki outside of their studio … - suddenly said Shou looking at the guitarist

-I'll come with you, I have to wait for Reita … - shyly replied the guitarist. Shou nodded with a big smile, as he began poking the guitarist's sides, while the other tried to stop the attacks, glaring at the implying expression of the elder.

-What? - asked Hiroto trying to decrypt the suspicious look on the elder's face

-Nothing. Just ... you are in this lovey-dovey mode, and you had always been the single one between us, so ... it's kinda cute - replied the elder with another smile

-Whatever … - hesitatingly added Hiroto, as he carried his guitar, and walked to the entrance, closely followed by their vocalist.

They soon reached the GazettE's studio, which was two floors below theirs. All the studios in the building looked the same, one main transparent entrance in the middle, with two wide windows at both sides of the entrance, and they were all rigorously soundproof.

Shou just sat against the opposite wall, his head resting in between his hands, which arms were being sustained on his folded thighs. Hiroto was standing next to him, feeling as anxious as ever; soon he was going to move in with Reita and he feared what was to come, because he really did love the bassist, and he didn't want their relationship to end … not yet. He wanted to keep being held by those strong arms, keep being greeted by that reassuring smile, and keep being protected by that ever loving heart, for a little more … just a little more.

Sooner or later his problem would have surfaced, like it did all the times he was able to find happiness in a relationship after that one time in high school when … He didn't want to think about. He couldn't. Just the thought would have made him hurl almost certainly. When Reita would find about his fear of loving, and being loved, and also the way he had acquired such phobia, he was sure the bassist would have left him, just like all the others. But he was different from the others, wasn't he? They had been together for a month now, and he still wasn't rushing him in any way, still giving the little one his time, reason why he had finally truthfully learned to trust, and feel comfortable in a relationship, but Reita was a man, and like every human being , had his needs, and Hiroto felt those needs emerging more and more each day.

There were times, he sincerely thought about telling the bassist about his phobia, given that he had already made a fatal mistake, by blurring out about not being a virgin, on a night they had both have a little too much alcohol. Shou himself still believed he was, the guitarist hadn't had the courage to tell his best friend, the person he trusted the must, about that hideous night in high school. Nobody else new, just him, and his first love of course.

Unknowingly, Hiroto had moved forward, placed himself at a corner of one of the windows searching for the bassist, and there he was. He couldn't hear what song they were playing, but by the way they were lightly swaying on their spot, he concluded they might have been playing a ballad. The bassist stare was fixed on his bass, like the attentive gaze of a parent making sure their child was safe, and Hiroto knew that feeling of protection way too well, it was the best feeling in the world.

His right hand fingers where lightly, but with a somewhat quick pace, strumming on the cords of his bass, as his left hand fingers played with the different combination in a blissful manner, but still maintaining extreme precision. Those hands, the miracle they made every time they landed on his hair, his cheeks, his own hands.

And that smile, that radiant and confident smile, which was now beaming at him, as they got ready to exit the studio, while Hiroto suddenly retreated, almost stumbling on his own feet.

-Wo, are you all right there? - asked Shou, the guitarist recollected himself, and just nodded in reply, trying to hide his almost certainly red tomato looking face. The door opened and one by one the memberes of the GazettE exited the room.

-Ready? - asked Ruki looking at the getting up figure of the other vocalist

-Yup. Let's go! Bye Hiroto see you tomorrow - exclaimed the vocalist, waving at the younger one. Hiroto just quickly nodded back, not finding even the strength to lift a finger. Aoi and Uruha followed Ruki, and then, there he was again, Reita.

The bassist, who was carrying his instrument in one hand, calmly walked towards the younger, and entangled his free hand in one of the guitarist, gently bringing him closer. He then leaned, and kissed the other, and as they parted, he gave Hiroto another bright smile, which the other couldn't help but reply with his, as he tightly held to the other hand.

-How was your day? - softly asked Hiroto as they made their way to the exit of the building

-It was ok, I guess, but I was so excited about today that I messed up couple of times during practice -

-Not true! You were perfect as always - quickly added the guitarist

-No I swear … - laughed the other - ... I was, I am, really nervous - he then concluded avoiding the others look feeling his blood rushing in his cheek, Hiroto just smiled back, intent to enjoy every minute of it, while he could.

888---***---888

They got into their respective cars, and drove to the guitarist house, Reita leading the way, and twenty minutes later they got to the apartment complex. As they entered one of the flat of the third floor of the complex, they immediately headed for the bedroom. Hiroto brought out a suitcase, and placed it open on the bed next to wear Reita was sitting.

-Do you need help with something? - asked the bassist, as he looked at the younger busing himself

-No don't worry, I got it - replied the other with a smile, as he disappeared in the bathroom

Reita quickly glanced around and then with his hands behind his head, he unconsciously leaned back on the bed, just to suddenly pull himself up realizing where he was. That was actually his first time being in Hiroto's bedroom. He got up from the bed, and slowly walked around the room, curiously scanning every inch of it.

The prevalent colors in the room where red and black. The bed cover, the curtains, the chair were all deep red, and the pillows, his desk, and the carpets on his wooden floor were all black. He got closer to the desk, and his attention was grabbed by two framed pictures placed at the opposite corners of it. One was a family picture, where the guitarist looked a couple of years younger, his hair shorter and black. Another was a collage of pictures of him and Shou, and the frame around it had written best friends.

-You and Shou have a very ... nice relationship - he exclaimed placing the picture back on the desk

-Yeah, we've been best friend for a long time, since high school. He is two years older than me though - replied the other from the bathroom. Reita just nodded in comprehension, and resumed with the scanning of his room. He had been somewhat jealous about the relationship between Hiroto and Shou, not that he didn't trust Hiroto, just a natural instinct, but given the recent events, he had decided to cut the younger vocalist a little slack.

-Remember the time we met? … - he asked feeling a sudden need of reminiscing. The guitarist, still in the bathroom let out a little laughter, exiting into the bedroom with a toiletry bag and some towels, and replied as he placed the items in the suitcase

-How could I forget! You tried really hard to get on my nerves … - he concluded and this time it was Reita's turn to laugh, as he observed the younger one, while leaning against the window.

-And I was working so hard to impress you! You really hurt me back then, you know. I used to go through the McDonald's drive-through just for you. - stated Reita in indignation.

-And I had the freaking night shift, I was tired as hell, that was like what … my third job? You would show up punctual at midnight, and I wasn't absolutely in the mood for cheat-chatting, with some blonde dude, who wore a baseball hat, and sunglasses in the middle of the night!- retorted Hiroto, who was now placing some clothes in the suitcase.

-Well, I couldn't risk being recognized … - justified the elder

-Beleive me, you weren't wearing your nose-band, that was sufficient! - replied the other, earning a pout from the bassist, which he replied by sticking out his tongue

-Then you began switching places with someone else when you saw me coming, after that day, when I had told you to keep the change! That hurt more than anything, especially when I'd see you switch place- quickly added Reita

-Uh! I felt like freaking prostitute when you did that! I was so pissed … - replied Hiroto pretending to be hurt. Reita got up from the window, walked behind the younger one, who was searching for something in the case, and cautiously wrapped his arms around his waist.

-I was just trying to be nice … - he whispered into the younger one's ear. Hiroto chuckled, and as he closed his suit case, he turned around in the embrace, pecked the elder on the nose, and replied

-Well … you failed!- he then, as cautiously, release from the embrace and quickly added

-Shall we go? - the bassist simply nodded, and stopped the other from carrying the suitcase.

-You are spoiling me too much! - grumbled the younger one, as Rieta proceeded towards the entrance

-Just hurry up, so that I can spoil you more at my place - shouted the bassist, who couldn't wait to start their new life together, hoping to get the younger more comfortable in their relationship.

True, they had already made a lot of progress, for one, Hiroto had stopped tensing every time he tried to hold him by his waist, or get into his personal space. However, Reita felt like the younger still kept up some sort of barrier to protect him from being hurt from what he couldn't yet discern, or maybe was it just from Reita himself?

They both got in their cars, with Reita leading the way once more, this time, being that the younger had never being at the his apartment before. Reita had never wanted for Hiroto to get out of his way for anything, he would always be the one, going to him, or picking him up to take him places. Maybe he did spoiled the guitarist, just a little, but he couldn't help it, he'd really turned the world upside down just to see the other smile. He knew it wasn't the same for the other, but in his case it had been a plain good old love at first sight.

They finally reached the expensive looking apartment complex. Reita brought out the suitcase, and placed it on the ground on it's wheels, he then quickly glanced at Hiroto's awed expression directed at the complex. The bassist smiled, and with his free hand, held the still shocked guitarist, and walked to the entrance.Reita's apartment was on the fifth floor, thus they took an elevator. Once they reached the floor, there were only to doors, his was the one on the right, which he promptly unlocked, and let them in.

-Just make your self comfortable, I'll keep your suitcase in the bedroom, I'll be back in a sec. - explained Reita, who quickly walked to his room, and carefully placed the suitcase in a corner. He then turned around, and almost jumped finding Hiroto standing at the edge of his bedroom door

-Do you mind if I change, I am really tired, and I'd like to go to bed … - hesitantly asked the younger

-Sure take your time! - replied the other, as he moved from the suitcase, Hiroto came into the room, and opening his suitcase, he pulled out a pair of boxer and a shirt. He then looked up at Reita with an inquisitive expression

-Ano … the bathroom? -

-Oh! Don't worry, I'll get out now … but just in case, it is the first door to your left of this room - he then got up and walked towards the door, but quickly added something before leaving

-I'll be waiting int the living room, call me when you are done - and he left closing the door behind him.

He should have known better. They hadn't even had sex yet, there was no way he would have being comfortable with changing in front of him. It wasn't like he wanted to see the other naked so badly, but he couldn't deny that his sexual attraction to the other, was rapidly increasing, and for all he remembered, he had never been in a relationship, without having sex for more than a week.

He hated to think of himself as being on the edge of becoming sexually frustrated, but he could feel himself being really close. However, he also didn't want the other to think, that he wanted him to be in his apartment, just because he needed to satisfy his lustful desires, because he really did love the younger one, and in his case it was probably even closer to adoration.

He dropped on his couch, and attempted to think things through, but he was stopped on his thought track, by the yawning guitarist, who entered the living room, and sat next to him on the couch.

-May I please get a pillow and a cover? - he politely asked, at which the bassist felt almost uncomfortable. Were they really going to sleep apart? And of all things, was he going to sleep on the couch?

-Oh don't worry! I'll take the couch, you can sleep in my bed - he quickly replied getting up

-No please, really … I'll sleep here. It's your house so I don't to want to kick you out of your own bedroom - quickly replied the other

-But- tried to protest Reita, but he was cut off by the younger

-Really - Reita sighed and looked at the expression of the guitarist, it almost looked pleading, and it definitely hurt. He then merely nodded, and disappeared to his bedroom to get the requested items. He then came back and handed them to Hiroto, who brightly smiled at him and said thank you.

-Well then good night … - slowly said Reita as he walked to the entrance

-Good night … Reita? - called Hiroto, at which the elder, swiftly turned around

-Thanks -  said the other, and once again the blonde  nodded, and exited the living room.

Reita entered his room, not even bothering to turn on his lights. He sluggishly walked to his king size bed and dropped on it. He then turned on his back and faced the ceiling sighing. He looked to his side and observed the other half of the bed, so empty, and yet the man he loved confined himself on a couch in his living room. The whole situation began to slowly drive him crazy, that wasn't what he thought the living together thing would be. He thought that maybe, the other was trying to make their relationship take a step further, to deepen it, but like this it just felt as if he were running from something. If that were to be the case, he could have feel honored to be bestowed with so much trust but, at the moment he felt everything but honored.

He was trying so desperately to understand the other, but it just seemed like each and every of his attempts just brought him to square one, all the times. Just what happened to you Hiro? That was all he could think, as he turned, and turned in his bed, feeling so powerless for not being able to relief his loved one from the sadness, and sorrow that was still haunting him.

He then brought himself up, the endless stream of thoughts wasn't allowing him to sleep, and he also still felt uncomfortable for the fact that the other was sleeping, alone on a couch. He opened the door to his room, and quietly walked to the living room. He entered the door-less room, and even quieter he walked to the couch where Hiroto was sleeping. He looked at the already sleeping face, which looked so serene and beautiful that he couldn't hold back a thin smile across his lips. Then he carefully leaned over and carried the fragile figure in his arms. He walked to his bedroom, and placed the being on his bed, and tucked him in the covers. He looked at the younger one for a little while, and gently leaned over to kiss his forehead

-Hiro, would you let me love you? ... - he whispered as he took a last glance at the calmly sleeping face, and left the room, lightly closing the door, heading for his living room.
