I was gonna buy a DS Lite, but I abhor white.
So, I found a site that sells various colors for not too much more money (most of the folks selling the imported colors are really gouging). Thing is, since I have the original DS which I can still very much enjoy, it just doesn't seem worth the $70 extra just to have a color other than bland crappy ( Read more... )

Wait on it. This is coming from someone who has a weird compulsion to collect examples of every iteration of GameBoy (possibly including the virtual boy at some point in the future.) I don't even feel any kind of connection to Nintendo as a corporation, I was just one of the first few million to own a GB, I've accumulated several of the advances in technology, I want the rest of them. I'll probably get over it some day.

Honestly, when I look at them side by side, I'm more compelled to buy a GBA Micro than a DS lite.

I really dig my DS. The idea of having one that weighs less and has a longer battery life is pretty attractive.
I think I might just go ahead and wait though. I really really hate white. Yes, that much.

Not to mention mine is skinned and personallized and until I can get something that is as good looking to me (i.e. navy or black) I think I should save my money. er...well, until I can get something as attractive to me for under $200 shipped.

I hardly ever touch mine. Despite the money I have invested in them, I hardly ever use mobile gaming platforms. The PSP gets more use, if only because it can play any video I pick for it and it's more portable than my laptop.

If it were in black, I might be more encouraged to use it, but I'm doubtful.

color is definitely not worth $70 more. however, if you decide to be crazy, there is one on eBay in ice blue for $185 buy it now after shipping. probably something similar for navy blue/black if you froogle or pricegrabber.

I just caught that last sentence. The DS doesn't have internal memory.

I have a Gameboy DS, and Gameboy Advance, and an orginal Gameboy. Those are all you need to play every game ever made for a Gameboy. You don't need anymore. They just make other models so people will spend more money! I WILL NOT FALL INTO THEIR WEB!!!!

Well the Lite IS the DS. They just made it smaller and lighter, moved the mic, and made the screen brighter. Also made the stylus larger so it's a bit less awkward, though you can by third party ones that are larger still...just don't fit in the little hole ( ... )
