A verse on K____’s blog leapt out at me, “you have not because you ask not”. Well, I may envy her always fitting in the right groove in life but that doesn’t change the fact that God hasn’t made me want what she wants. I still don’t want her life. I just want to fit as neatly into my life as she does into hers ( Read more... )

Interesting thought, as to being satisfied with where you are at. I am sort of in your camp, in that I am not where I want to be. In fact, often feel that I totally missed my call. But, then, I do try to live within the circumstance (that I find myself in) according to how God would want for me to, if that makes any sense.

As for peace, indeed, I wonder about that on occasion. I think it was St. Theresa (Of Avilla) who said to the Lord, "If this is how you treat your friends, then I see why you have so few."

I more often than not lack peace and also fail at living for the moment. I do pray for it, though, and I do have moments of great Grace. And, I would not trade that for anything.

Perhaps it is a journey, whereby the problem really lies within ourselves, in our failure to see the Graces that are continuously being offered to us.

I often think of that quote from Theresa as well. :D

Maybe it's normal to feel that you've missed your call? After all, Elijah ran away and hid after calling down fire from heaven. Noah whined about God saving Ninevah. I won't even go into Jeremiah's doubts! Maybe it's par for the course after all?

I guess we're left with no choice but to live the best we can according to our lights in the circumstance we're in. What else can we do?

It's funny, sometimes for me the greatest peace came at the point of greatest failure because at that point, I had to let go and let God.

One thing I'm sure about, the problem definitely lies within myself! ;D
