Graffiti and Movies

It looks like the Gangster Disciples tagged my building the other night. Boo. Now my neighbors are in tizzies about what to do. Installing a light over the front door is good. Filing an insurance claim is bad; the city has resources for removing graffiti ( Read more... )

Don't file a claim. Call 311 and the city will send someone to sandblast the graffiti off. (My friend's building has been tagged by the Latin Kings a few times, and her landlord always had it cleaned up on the city's dime.)

Also, if the movie signs say it's for RFK or Rory's First Kiss, that's actually The Dark Knight. Wooooo, Batman!

Yeah, I quickly vetoed the crazy insurance claim idea. I'd like to save that for when we actually need it like a basement flood or a fire.

Hee. The first thing I looked for was RFK on the sign! A neighbor just told me that the movie is a small indie film. Boo.

hey, small indie films can have actors we obsess aboutlike in them!

...and glad you prevailed against filing a claim! the sandblasting thing works and is relatively fast. you'll have a bit of a mess and you'll have to double-check the grout between the bricks to make sure they didn't go too deep...
