Poor kitty. Probably some ones pet that they could no longer care for. And instead of doing the right thing they just let it out.

The cops really didn't have to kill the poor thing. As it said in the article - call the zoo! They're equipped for this. It's not like the cougar was rampaging through the streets slashing little dogs and children.

That's just a very sad story.

that's the first thing that came to my mind - why the hell did they shoot it. it wasn't attacking anyone. they should have called the zoo.

Yeah. The Lincoln Park Zoo isn't that far away.
